You clearly haven't done your research and have just been listening to Hearn and the like saying "Bivols gonna be 20lbs heavier duuh " Canelo is on video himself saying he walks around 180-2lbs, and that he would rehydrate to around 180lbs + at LHW. Bivol is objectively a small LHW fighter, look at him in all his LHW fights he is at a size disadvantage, he looks small. This is backed up by HBO fight night weigh ins of Bivols fights (go on look it up) where his fight night weight is in low 180s and by Bivol himself who claimed in an interview before the fight that his fight night weight would be 184lbs, max. Canelo was winging away heavy punches against Kovalev (granted he wasnt throwing with mean intentions back) all night for 11 rounds at 175 and I didn't see him gas at all. This is a Canelo who went up two weight classes not one as he did against Bivol. So the weight should have affected him more in the Kovalev fight. Instead he gassed in the Bivol fight, because Bivol was trying to win and putting it on him. They are both SMWs.. It would be interesting to see Canelos fight night weight at 168 which I could have a guess and say around 175+ (give at 154 he was supposedly rehydrating 170lbs+). Where does he gas in those fights? And also where did Bivol use his size against Canelo. Yeah he used his height and reach but wasn't bullying him with the physical size advantage, he was just schooling him
Bivol had canelo on the ropes many times and was hitting with clean shots all night in combination. It wasnt a schooling. Canelo got busted up.
Legit didn’t read any of your post. You’re the same guy who said this and the Kovalev fights were fixed.
You are just a worthless tit. You wouldn't even be able to understand it anyway, probably too complex for you
His shots are always gonna look good because of his technique, but he doesn’t have the natural power or size to bother elite lhws. He also can’t make up for it since his stamina won’t allow a higher work rate. He just can’t compete with skilled guys that big
At no point in Bivol's life could he have made 154 and 160 as a pro. Thats how you know he was the bigger man. Stupid thread based on hatred. Nothing more to it than that
Nah. 168 is better for him. Nelo is short, stocky and thick so he can get his weight up to 175 comfortably but that doesn't mean he it suits him best especially when you consider stamina. That was a problem even at the lower weights.
I don’t think height is so much a factor because one can always point to short guys like Mike Tyson. I just don’t like Canelo at 175 for that and several reasons. Canelo took a big risk, which I applaud like Garcia seeking Spence, going back into 175 when we all know that is not a natural weight division for him period
I dont think anyone is arguing he's not able to be competitive at Light heavy. It's clear though he's not elite at that weight; - Too short in height and reach - He bulks up at the expense of speed, agility and stamina. - But he has to pack on the weight in order to compete at LHW. His power is also somewhat watered down when he's fighting at LHW.
Tyson was exceptional especially in terms of power. It made up for lack of height and even then it started to become a problem when he fought better heavyweights. Nelo is/was never a ko artist like Tyson. He's better suited at 160-168 for sure.
