    Great fight from both guys.

Respect to Canelo for again dipping into 175 and no excuse on the mic inside the ring.

I only awarded Canelo 3 rounds so not sure what the judges were looking at other than their cash app account balance.

I don’t see where Canelo can make any adjustments for a rematch as clearly he never even buzzed Bivol.
Great video as always @Rumsfeld and I also DKSAB

I had the same 8-4 score, giving rounds 1-3 & 9 to Canelo. The first 3 were close rounds and could have easily gone the other way. The rest weren't, not a close fight but our cards probably a closer fight. The nature of boxing .

Actually I felt sorry for Canelo. It was like a grown up man viciously beating a little kid. Canelo looked helpless most of the time. I myself wanted to get in the ring and protect Canelo, tell Bivol not to hit him anymore.

I taught my lady friend how to score a fight during the undercard.

She scored it roughly the same as the judges 115-112, giving out some even rounds. And also apparently giving Canelo credit for arm punches. Her 2nd ever scorecard and she did as well as these "expert" judges.

I scored it 117 111, but there where close rounds in there. 116 112 is possible on the generous side for Canelo.

Which are this close rounds? There is none, even with the dog**** biased compubox, Bivol is owning Canelo in every single round, both on activity and power punches, as far as the jabs goes, this wasn't content at all.

It wasn't much of a surprise to me that Bivol was better, I believe for most the surprise was how much better and the judges actually scoring the fight in his favor. Although it's clear they tried their very best to score it for Canelo, but eventually failed.

I’m surprised some people see this as an upset. It was quite clear to me that he would struggle against an elite 175 fighter. Canelo’s small at 168.

Canelo should move on. Bivol should move into the unification fight ASAP.

    Good video as usual, Rummerboy.

I'm not interested in a rematch but Bivol deserves the paaaaadaaaay.

I would rather have Bivol fight the winner of Beterbiev/Smith. But DKSAB.

I have to agree with CST here, Rummy.

I'd watched a few Bivol fights, and Bivol was just better. Add to that his size and durability, and I didn't think Canelo had much chance, other than pulling a GGG fiasco again.

    Before the fight, I posted...
    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/does-bivol-have-a-good-chin.686006/#post-21694416

It reminded me of BHop Tito.

Prior to that fight, I kept wondering why is Tito the favourite here ?

This time, I was thinking the same thing about Canelo.

As I said, I expected Bivol to probably get robbed if it was remotely close.

    It wasn't.

But the judges were well on the way to a robbery at the end of four, with all four rounds going to Canelo on all three cards.

Had Bivol decided to coast in round 12, and if round 12 was remotely close, the scores would all have read 114-114, and that would have been a worse draw robbery than Lewis Holy 1.

I had it 118 -110, but Bivol arguably won every round.
Canelo did not win a single round clearly.

If we discount all the rounds that could give rise to an argument of any merit, Bivol won this thing 8 - 0.

I don't think Canelo would be wise to rematch the Russian, at least not at 175.

I just don't see what he can do differently next time. He came close to being stopped in rd 11.

Besides, like the AJ-Usyk match messing up unification at HW, a Bivol -Canelo rematch spoils the unification of Bivol v winner of Smith-Beterbiev.

Canelo needs to watch the fight, then take a few days to think about his next move.

    Great video, Rummy. As usual.

This fight was a litmus test to separate the casuals and the so called hardcore fans that let hype influence their thought process from the level headed followers. If it wasn't obvious that Bivol would school Canelo then you might want to stop flaunting your opinions. Now only if there was a way to distinguish the ones who obsessively hate Canelo we could of had a perfect fan filter to tell who is halfway intelligent.

They called him Nelo Two-Times, because, in almost every round, he punched everyone two times.

Betting against Canelo is betting against the house. If there is a Bivol rematch they will do more stacking to ensure Canelo gets a victory. Canelo can remain more active by not loading up, and even if he throws single shots that hit gloves, it is considered scoring by paid judges, casuals and Canelo nut huggers.

He'll get on some stamina PEDs too, eg Clenbuterol.

    Good vid, Rummy.

I like Bivol and dislike Canelo, so I don't want to take away from Bivol's win, but Canelo was just too small.

Canelo was getting pushed around by Bivol. Canelo didn't have the power and size to command any respect. Canelo tried to compensate for his lack of power with these big, slow haymakers, but -- as they were slow -- they were easily blocked. Bivol was brushing off Canelo's blows and going back to teeing off on Canelo.

My thoughts from 7 months ago. I thought Canelo had learned his lesson from Kovalev, but he hadn't.
