After following Bivol for years learning how he started taking boxing at the tender age of 6 his impressive run as an amateur combined with a perfect pro record I knew Canelo was for a long night, not counting his physical attributes and tough personality my two cents to Canelo stay away from Bivol you don't have the junk in the trunk to win a rematch.
It wasn't an upset in every sense of the word. For people who know that styles make winners and losers, know it was not an upset. However it was an upset for people who are just casual watchers.
Dimitry Bivol sure surprised me, his effectiveness with that hard accurate left jab of his scored often, he withstood Canelo Alvarez's body shots as if they were nothing, although during the post fight press conference he did say that Canelo's body shots hurt him, his upper arm did show the signs of the shots that Canelo connected on. I would sure like to see a title unification bout with Bivol facing Artur Beterbiev, it would be a good fight but Bivol is very skillful, if he can take Alvarez's best, he might be able to take Beterbiev's best also.
Wait! Did you just call me Fredo? Fredo? Oh, no... that was cocktail waitresses. Cocktail waitresses.
118-110 Bivol In a Rematch , it will be Late TKO for Bivol. Canelo cannot match a Bivol. If I were Canelo, I would chase a 3rd fight with GGG instead of a Bivol rematch that would lower Canelo's reputation a lot on a 2nd loss
Every expert I saw picked Canelo. Every boxer, active and retired that I saw on YouTube over overwhelmingly picked Canelo. Many said he’d win by KO. Very few gave Bivol a chance. Are they all casuals? Not one mentioned Canelo being too small. It’s amazing that Canelo got too small after he got his ass kicked. Maybe the better skilled boxer won.
Fighters are notorious for picking the wrong fighter. How many people did you count, one hundred? That's only a drop in the bucket to the people out there that know boxing. They said that for TV, and I would bet money that they all didn't feel that way inside. They couldn't have, if they ever watched Bivol fight and being fighters and sports aficionados I know they have. Yeah, the better fighter did win and I am not the only one who thought that he would.
That just proves that the experts are all idiots and DKSAB. I knew Bivol had a great chance to win and many posters on here liked his chances and predicted Bivol would win. Many of the so-called experts got proven wrong, and it wouldn't be the first time. But most fans saw this as a 50-50 fight which it looked a lot like it was turning into in the first 4 rounds. Remember how many of the experts picked GGG to beat Canelo. Look what happened, Canelo surprised then whopped his ass in the rematch. Remember how many experts picked Pacquiao to beat Mayweather. Look what happened. How many experts picked Wilder to beat Fury. How many experts picked Wlad to beat Fury. How many experts picked Pac to beat Marquez. The list goes on and on. The experts in the media get proven wrong far more than they get proven right. This is boxing - theater of the unexpected. It's generally not easy to predict, you really gotta know your stuff to predict outcomes, and even then you'll still be proven wrong a lot. The media / experts gets sucked into hype, but many of us on here know better than the experts because we have a better and clearer vantage point. We have the benefit of having a birds eye view of the sport whereas the people in the media are too deeply connected to it to see the forest from the trees.
Two fights where I can't fathom what the pundits were thinking. BHop v Tito I was 97 % sure Bernard was going to beat the smaller man, probably by a shutout or close. And I gave Canelo virtually no chance against the better-in every-department Bivol. And I had the fight much wider...118 - 110
