Canelo only fight 3 time at 160 pounder and at least one of Golovkin fight was gift maybe we can say 2 fight gift.

At 152 pound he loss to great Floyd who was not young fighter. Floyd true great but already past the peak & small man

Canelo 4 fight at supermiddle was his greatness? Could be. But if you so supreme superfighter at strong 168 why outclass so bad by underdog just one division above.?? So say he's 'pound for pound" (stupid concept) makes not any proper sense. He is good champion in a few division but maybe not great champion and not proved #1 fighter even in some of the division.

The last two sentences in my post were more directed at the OP and the thread topic.

    ^^^^^^Complete nonsense^^^^^^

Ok, then every fighter gets expose when they lose. The moral of the story to this posters is no one should lose or you were expose (even a fighter who hasn't lost in 9 years & was defeated by a bigger fighter).

Canelo was never pound for pound #1. No shame in losing to Bivol though.

Do you literally want me to provide you a source? Eddie Hearn stated Canelo chose Bivol based on his last two "poor" performances. Also, why did Canelo randomly jump up two weight classes to LHW to "fight" Kovalev then immediately jump back down? If you can't spot the obvious cherrypicking you are ****ing stupid

i'm not a canelo fan, but he fought a great fight such as bivol last day. great defense and reflexes, good power shots. the problem is that bivol is too big, too tall for canelo.

He has the judges in his pocket and he lost the GGG fights but the problem is his body of work completely dwarfs the bodies of work of a lot of the fighters people are claiming are better than him, deserves to be ranked above him, or that he ducked.

There are tons of fans out there claiming that Jermallo and Spence are better and are the far more risky assignments for him that Bivol and Beterbiev were/are.

They've worked themselves up into a frenzy because they genuinely believe he ducked Jermallo to fight Bivol

Just think about that for a second

It's obviously not a case of a fighter cashing out by fighting a bigger or more dangerous one instead of one their own size or smaller because Clenelo is the richest fighter in the world and he earns tens of million no matter who he's opts to face

I didn't really have a clear #1. I have Crawford, Usyk, and Inoue up at the top currently. I had Canelo was up there too, I just didn't think he was number 1.

    Can you not read?

Sure, serve it up. Just make sure it reads something close to, 'Canelo chose Bivol because his last two performances were poor and he thinks it's an easy fight', because Eddie simply remarking that Bivol didn't set the world alight in his last couple showings isn't the same thing (same has actually been said for Beterbiev's performances against Browne and Deines, notwithstanding their destructive endings).

Whatever Hearn said about Bivol's recent form (as if he's the first to ever look flat against uninspiring opposition), the #2 light heavyweight in the world, an undefeated technician in his prime, is not a cherry-pick.

And park the tough talk already, you'd get your face smashed in.

Hearn has said that Bivols poor showing in jhis past two previous fights inspired canelo's teams choice ...they got that cherry wrong...

Clenelo was nevery the real #1 P4P. It was all hype and $$$.

Skill for Skill he's a crude slugger with no real boxing skills. He has **** footwork and no jab. His volume isn't great either and the gas tank is suspect.

Yes, he was exposed. I called him a plodder after the the Plant fight. He has tremendous skills but has chosen to now just walk forward and try to bomb fighters. This is one dimensional, and a well schooled solid fighter with a high guard like Bivol schooled him. His lack of stamina also got exposed again. People saying Bivol was too big for him is ridiculous as Canelo probably walks around at the same or higher weight. He was sparring a heavyweight recently too. Bivol had said that he would fight Canelo at 168 way before the fight got made. Canelo looks bloated at 175 and I have no sympathy. They tried to make a mockery of the divisions by trying to go for the weakest cruiser, and taking on a pathetic struggling Kovalev. Canelo's whole team got exposed in the last 2 weeks. Team pink is questionable as ****. Clowns even had the nerve to have Usyk in their mouths.

Canelo basically got what he dished out to Callum Smith. Time for him to move back to 168.
