Ezzard Charles is Overrated.

When you say that there are “ many fighters out there who are much better than him “ how do you mean ? Are you saying that their resumes are better or that you think they look better on film or both?

 

two things,

the amount of Past Greats being undermined in the last couple of years on these sights is only surpassed by the even greater number of Boxers in general that get totally overlooked, who are Equally GREAT, by either completely ill informed people, or people who just refuse to EXCEPT the DOCUMENTED History and Worse aren't Honest Enough to apply the Comparisons!

not simply Rediculous, but more a reflection of peoples "Win at All Cost" mentality, even if it is Blatantly seen & proven Wrong.

Ezzard Charles was/IS a GREAT Fighter period - NO Debate ... and guess what, So Were DOZENS of his Era's Contemporaries!!!

That’s like 16 wins against HOF fighters lol what am I missing here? If you don’t think Charles is a p4p great maybe reassess what you think you know of the sport

 

If Charles doesn't have a great resume then nobody in sport does. May sound harsh but anyone that doesn't understand Charles greatness needs to learn about the sport.

His resume is literally better than 99% of greats

 

Theres a lot of fighters that are overrated but Charles isnt one of them. As legit an ATG as it gets.

 

Ezzard was no Jim Corbett, it's true, but he was pretty OK nonetheless.

 

Beating Archie Moore x3 ( The goat of his division aside from Ezzard himself ), Charley Burley x2 ( An elite ATG while he wasn't old enough to legally drink), Jersey Joe Walcott x2 ( Arguably a top 20 HW ATG) is overrated now ? And those are only his best wins, he still has a lot of other great names on his resume. There are some fighters that are never going to be overrated, Charles is one of those fighters.

 

Not only is this a bad take but you don't even defend your own argument here. You don't expand at all about why you think his resume is overrated. You just call it overrated and say that are many fighters greater than him (who you don't even name).
