Why Canelo has never been P4P number one.

I'll preface this by saying, even though he lost against twice 8-4 to an older slower 35yo GGG, Canelo demonstrated he had skill in those fights.

Now to the main discussion (clangs knife and fork together and licks lips). We are going to start with a show ladies and gentleman - I will address Canelo's claim to p4p stardom by looking at his undisputed run at 168lbs. Now, I have stated before I thought the Plant and Smith fights were fixes, but as it stresses too many of you fanboys up I'll entertain the idea that they were real fights.

    1. Let's start with Callum Smith. Oooo this is gonna be a good one. Where do we start with this boys and girls? Callums claim to fame is starching the mighty Fielding, looked garbage against a kickboxer and taking out a one armed handicapped, aging Groves. He then went onto disgracefully rob European level at best John Ryder just prior to taking the Canelo fight. If all these circumstances weren't enough, Canelo went on to give Callum a 4-5 week camp where he struggled to find sparring partners. Canelo likely dictated the timing of this putting Callum in limbo all the while he, as the A side, knew exactly who he was choosing next whilst being in training. There's a difference between Callum staying in shape and training for a specific fight.

    2. Billy Joe Sounders
Billy was a blown 160lber for a start. Prior to fighting Canelo, he had 3-4 years of fighting outside of world level, with his last high level fight being in 2017 against Lemieux. This is not to mention apart from this fight, Billy has looked hit and miss time and time again. Against Akavov and Ryder he looked subpar (arguable losses) . He had very close wins against Ryder, Akavov, Chris Eubank Jr (LMAO), and Andy Lee (that peach of a kd from Billy was the most satisfying punch I've seen though).

So prior to Canelo, he won his belt which was essentialy gifted to him by Warren's Boxing Organisation (WBO) at stevenage against Shefat Isufi (yeah, you heard of him right?). He then went on a trail of mediocre unimpressive performances culminating in a rather bland below par performance against the ghost of shot Martin Murray.

Now Billy right after Martin Murray claimed his timing was off and that he wouldn't accept a fight with Canelo and that he needed another fight. Anyway that didn't happen and he fought Canelo. Despite all this, Billy fought essentially with the everything stacked against him and still won anywhere between 3 and 5 rounds.

Canelo's run at 168 not looking impressive ay.

    3. Caleb Plant

I'll keep this short and sweet, failed low IQ Mayweather clone who was coming off an uninspired win against a 37 year old. His resume is also terrible apart from his decent win against Uzacategui two years prior. If you thought this was all bad, he tops it off with some strange ass licking of Canelo midfight that totally wasnt out of character "I'm pretty good huh?"

    Summary
Basically, I've just proven, if it wasn't already obvious, that Canelo's claim to p4p greatness is utterly outrageous. If we want to look outside his wins at 168lbs what are we looking at? His two deserved losses to an old man? His deserved loss against Lara? His arguable draw (I had it 7-5 Canelo, but a draw is definitely on the table if you are to fairly judge) to a drained Daniel Jacobs? He has not dominated a good division. And even the division he did become undisputed in, well, as I've stated, the question marks are everywhere.

Regardless of scoring. Canelo looked one dimensional and out of ideas, whilst Bivol looked he hadn't even hit second gear. Looked like he carried him LOL

It was just...the utter contempt for the super-middleweight division, the absolute trashing of Canelo's opponents who all Actually Sucked, I just...just...bravo.
