Gvozdyk was messed up. Proper scare, thought his brain was hemorrhaging. Beterbiev is a very dirty fighter. Shoves with his arms, stiff-arms up close, kidney shots (he knocked Usyk down by punching his kidney), holds etc. He was also stepping on Browne's lead foot to prevent him from pivoting. He stepped far more than you would expect from an orthodox-southpaw matchup.
Being hit on the shoulder, wrist, arm, etc doesn't even hurt that much. Certainly a lot less than it does being hit in an actual scoring area.
It does when its Beterbiev doing the punching. Hes a genetic freak. Like many other top fighters hes a genetic freak. People think they can perfect their skills and look slick in front of the mirror shadowboxing. Then you step in the ring and find not a man standing in the ring with you, but a piece of iron.
No, a shot to the shoulder from ANYONE doesn't hurt as much as a shot to the head or body does. It's a much more densely packed, and less sensitive area. Put it this way, I'd much rather firm a punch to the shoulder from Beterbiev than one to the jaw or ribs. And Jesus man, get the guys balls out your mouth
Nice try. Did Clenelo punches has any effect on Bivol ? None, Zero !!! Obviously you haven't been in the boxing gym even once, cause even after a light sparring you can and mostly will have marks or bruises, but that doesn't mean a thing. Your comment is ridiculous. What exactly does some bruises day after the match have to do with what happen in the fight night, when this punches has any effect at all ? Dare to explain ?
Beterbiev hit Artur Deines, Enrico Kölling and Marcus Browne with everything he had and still it took 9-12 rounds to force the KO Bivol by lopsided UD
you have no ****ing idea about boxing, NONE, ZERO. Yes hitting arms is a strategy, and very popular in mexico. And yes, hitting hips is another strategy (illegal strategy this one). And the effect of hitting arms is that the guy cannot use them if the punishment is hard enough. There is a soft spot on the humerus (as well as in the femur) where you can punch to disable the arms. Canelo tried to disable bivol's jab by doing so. I already wrote a comment I dont remember in which thread saying that I dont like this strategy because you dont get points out of it (as you get punching the body), but I am amazed with how many people do not know **** about freaking boxing in this forum. Most of you only know how to hug nuts, you dont know even the most basic strategies.
His English always was quite good Canelo did not have to speak English at all because his main audience already speaks his native language
I don't think the future is bright for Bivol. I see him as the next Rigondeax. A ridiculously good technician with solid chin. They will avoid him at all cost. Now the country he's representing is being isolated. I am sure the WBA prez self-abused each time he was thinking that Clen beats Bivol and they get rid off the fighter that is reluctant to lose, unpopular, brings little money and is not very active.
