If you put 2009 Pac in with the Canelo from the Cotto fight at 154, Canelo would beat him. Pac can beat the Canelo from the Hatton fight for sure tho.

The young canelo would struggle with pac from 09-11

There is a case for both guys, but when I think about it, canelo hits much harder than margarito and is a much better boxer

Manny has the angles, speed, volume and definitely some pop on his shots, but it is still a tall task

Pacquiao is arguably greater than Floyd from an achievement point. He wasn't as dominant, but had greater longevity etc

However, he was certainly not near as good as Floyd and in no way shape or form could he dominate/outbox canelo like Floyd

It would have been an intriguing fight for sure and much more competitive than Floyd/canelo

Pac p4p is obviously much better than canelo

Please. 152 Clenelo was drained and depleted. That's why Floyd was comfortable walking him down. Floyd put a beating on Clenelo, but couldn't put a beating on JMM who was dragged up 2 weight classes and cheated on the scales. Guerrero, Ortiz, and Berto didn't take nearly as much punishment as Clenelo did. Pac kills the version Floyd fought.

    :deal:

Bivol beat the best ever version of Clenelo. Floyd beat Zombienelo.

    Fact!

He wasn't drained that's an excuse and he weighed 165 in the ring on fight night he outweighed a faded pbf by 15 pounds in the ring pbf was 150 on fight night.

Pbf shut jmm out like he did canelo and he didn't need 4 fights with jmm to show dominance like pac did.

Pbf walked canelo down because he was in complete control and knew he could beat canelo to the punch at will and be gone because of his superior footwork and footspeed against slow footed canelo.

Canelo is the same slow footed fight in spurts guy he always had been. He was put under immense mental stress against pbf and bivol who had him second guessing himself and thinking way too much in the ring that tired him out. Like I said before he's no better now than he was back then because he's fallen in love with his bad habits even more so due to arrogance because he's been fighting guys who couldn't exploit them and hes blown away for the most part. The canelo that bivol fought is no better than the one pbf fought that's a myth he's bigger that's it. His flaws were there to be seen against pbf bivol who beat him and Lara for long stretches and even bjs and plant exposed some to at times. You just want to discredit pbfs win because pac doesn't have a win as good. But astute boxing fans like me who go against the grain who know boxing know what the deal is and can see no real improvement in canelo it was just his opponents that made him look like he improved, which is why you have what happened on Saturday night. If canelo had really improved he would've learned from his loss against pbf going life and death with Lara and would've beaten bivol but that didn't happen because he's made no real improvement in his game. He still has no answers for a guys who are defensively responsible with educated footwork a jab and speed who can execute a gamelan for a full 12 and not give in.:deal:

We don't agree on everything Pimp, but this is bang on. Mayweather took away everything Canelo had to offer, which is exactly what Bivol did in the weekend. Mayweather established his stinging shots early on against Canelo and made Saul think twice before loading up on his shots. People say Mayweather has no power, but that is naive in every way. His power comes from pin point accuracy, speed and the timing against the force coming forward. Canelo learned that the hard way. The 'mexican style' was nullified and he was outboxed throughout 12 rounds.

It had nothing to do with Canelo being green or drained - both of which Canelo confirmed post fight. He said Mayweather was hard to find, hard to hit and is very smart. He was schooled.

You know who doesn't agree with the OP? Manny Pacquiao himself. He is on record several times proclaiming he don't want that smoke.

You're not making sense. You said 152 Clenelo is too big and too powerful for Pac. Yet Floyd was in control of lightweight Marquez as well, with a huge size advantage, but didn't punish him like he did Clenelo. He only felt comfortable doing so because Clenelo was a zombie. Pac would have demolished that version.

It makes plenty of sense. Pac would be dwarfed in the ring at 152 against canelo and be bullied out of the ring. Canelo has gotten bigger because he moved up. He was no zombie he was outboxed and outclassed like over 90% of boxers who stepped foot in the ring with pbf were includung your god pac. Lastly pbf beat jmm worse than he beat canelo and if I remember correctly he even dropped jmm. Pbf would never drop canelo in a million years.

No. JMM got dropped, but wasn't hurt. JMM barely had a mark on him after the final bell. Clenelo's face was busted up and he was grasping for air in the late rounds. If Floyd was a little more aggressive than he was, he could have forced a ref stoppage. Clenelo was a zombie. Only 2 guys have busted his face up — Floyd at 152 and Bivol at 175. GGG didn't bust up Clenelo's face like Floyd did. And the reason for that was because Clenelo was drained and drawn leading to bruising easier.

Fact is Floyd didn't put beat downs on Marquez, Berto, Guerrero, Ortiz, and Cotto because they were live. Clenelo was dead at 152.

You just said it the only guys who busted his face up like that were pbf and bivol. He wasn't drained at 175 and got his face busted up and he wasn't drained at 152 and got his face busted up. Why? Because both guys land sharp accurate clean punches on canelo and countered him more than anyone else. That explains his marked up and busted up face both pbf and bivol are accurate technicians Canelo hadn't fought a guy quite like that in a long time. It's really that simple.

Pbf beat all of those fighters wide

Jmm dropped and didn't lose a round to
Berto shot and lost maybe 2 rounds
Guerrero don't really even remember that fight to be honest
Ortiz reduced to fouling due to his inability to hit pbf with anything of note and was stopped
Cotto stylistically matched up better than all the others but still lost 9-3.

I really don't see your point other than you trying to discredit a great win. Canelo tried but was simply outclassed and outboxed just like he was against bivol.

You look at the big guys that Manny faced..

Clottey and Margarito. Those guys just stood there.

    Canelo at least moves around.

    Too big, Too Strong.

    Canelo by decision.

Only point I don't agree with you is stating that Canelo hasn't improved since his loss to PBF. Yes he was slow footed then and he is slow footed now. But I maintain that because of Floyd his head movement is much improved, especially when against the ropes. He actually learned that from Floyd.

No, Saul wasn't drained and wasn't "green". He just got beat by a better boxer....just like he lost this weekend to a better boxer. Oh and lost to GGG, a better boxer.

Because Bivol is a natural LHW and therefore his punches are going to be naturally harder and result in more facial damage. Yet Floyd busted Clenelo's face as much as Bivol did.

Floyd didn't bust Canelo's face up, he doesn't punch hard enough. A little swelling under one of his eye that was about it. Bivol marked him up far more than Floyd did.
