They are now taking his retirement comments seriously. Will the WBC do so as well, and sanction a fight for the vacant title? https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/479205 https://boxrec.com/en/ratings?r[role]=proboxer&r[sex]=M&r[division]=Heavyweight&r[country]=&r[stance]=&r[status]=a&r_go= https://boxrec.com/en/ratings?r[role]=proboxer&r[sex]=M&r[division]=&r[country]=&r[stance]=&r[status]=a&r_go=
Hopefully they will let Usyk (or Joshua, if he wins, which he won't) fight for the title, maybe against Wilder or the winner of Joyce-Parker. There was a weird rumor a couple of days ago that the vacant belt was going to be filled in a fight with Wilder-Wallin. I like Wallin, but don't get that if true.
I'm the last guy on earth who actually likes Wilder but the lack of Mark Breland's guidance is showing. Part of taking a rebuilding fight after a brutal KO loss is seeing if you actually want to keep boxing or if you just want to be HW champ. The WBC and others want to wring every last cent out of his career while there's anything left to wring and kind of like Fury 2 he needs someone who knows when it's better to live to fight another day. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Wilder vs Wallin.
He more active than Usyk Joshua & Wilder and most top heavyweight. Fought October 2021, April 2022, that is three weeks ago
Meaningless. Fury may be claiming he's retired, but only once he's turned down the Usyk fight will I believe him.
There were rumours about a fight between Luis Ortiz and Andy Ruiz happening in late summer. I can well imagine that if Fury really retires, the belt will be on line for the mentioned bout. It could also bring back Wilder in the game, fighting the winner of the two for the belt.
Fury has never been undisputed. And this goal is 1 fight away from him This 'retirement' nonsense is made up to be sure he's given the max amount of money
It should not effect the ranking. He says he retired this week, he might say unretired next week. What then? Put him back in! Then week after he says retired again! So remove, then again week after he says he's not retired, put him back in again. Makes no proper sense
Yeah it should, but it's not going to happen. Just like back in the day when Vitali retired and Wlad was holding every other belt, as it was mentioned then as well. Would have been funny to have seen Wlad vs Stiverne... If he ate that many jabs against Wilder and ancient Austin, how many would he have eaten vs Wlad?
