Just stumbled on this video, did you agree with the decision on the first fight? I thought Castaño won by a solid margin (checking the RBR I had it 117-111 for BC, CST80 and one or two others saw the same but to be fair we were the widest). Otherwise, it was an interesting point about the adjustments Charlo could make. I've been thinking more along the lines of why wasn't he prepared, if it's possible that he's physically outmatched, but I can see what you mean now. It wouldn't be the first time that a boxer got his jab going, worked in some feints, and all of a sudden his opponent looks hapless.
I think Rummy's analysis is spot on, Charlo has to control distance and stay in the center of the ring, Castano's only hope in my opinion is to enforce his will on Charlo and make this a fight close encounter. In the first fight I thought Charlo got a little lazy at times, lost focus and allowed Castano to get him along the ropes, if he maintains his concentration and counters well Castano has few options. If I had to make a prediction I like Charlo also and maybe easier than many think as I believe Charlo may hurt Castano coming in early. But,,,,,one good shot can change everything
I agree with the general assessment here. What makes this one especially hard to call is not only that their styles mesh well, but the fact that each has the ability to hurt the other. Charlo seemed to have better punch resistance, but it still appeared that Castano could rock him with a single well-placed shot or a combination. That makes for a wide range of possibilities. Whoever wins is going to have some interesting defenses down the line, if they stay.
