I consider Leonard and Armstrong almost equal at welter, almost 2a. and 2b, This list was decided based on a combination of accomplishments at the weight as well as head to head matchups.

Exocet, forgive me. I must have been hallucinating. This second list is my true ranking. I thought I would rush the list out there quickly before I went to bed—Mark
No worries. you've got the two I mentioned I can't think of any you've missed off the top of my head. The ranking is pretty solid too nothing sticks out.
again 'Lists' are impossible and thoroughly Inaccurate, because of the impossibility of taking a good few hundred Boxers in History and try to place them accurately, you Can't, it is 'literally' inaccurate. you might be able to assess say up to 25 with some measure of recognition, but with thousands of fighter through History, a TOP Fighter where someone might have listed at say 100 on a bigger list, might actually infact be capable of beating most, if not all listed ahead of him "on the night"... Lists are just Not Accurate to True Life and especially Facts surrounding fighters careers. example, you'll never Ernie Roderick listed in a Top 10 or 25 list for example, but he is as good as Most of Them... he will always be listed at Home behind Ted Kid Lewis and Jackie Kid Berg, but H2H he is better than Berg and near as good, if not better than Lewis. the point is with HUNDREDS of Great Welters throughout history trying to accurately place the Top 100 is impossible enough, never mind the actual Best H2H Top 10. the same applies for every Division and every P4P Lists too - Impossible to be accurate, TOO Many Great and Excellent Top Fighters in History.
Thistle, these lists are all in fun. People love to compare and contrast, especially in boxing. There is no way of proving anything in terms how the best fighters rank. Just as there is no way to absolutely prove the rankings of the all time great pro quarterbacks. We all have our opinions, and judge those football players by certain criteria . Just as we use certain criteria to judge boxers. It’s all just speculation.
1. Sugar Ray Robinson 2. Henry Armstrong 3. Sugar Ray Leonard 4. Jose Napoles 5. Barney Ross 6. Kid Gavilan 7. Thomas Hearns 8. Luis Rodriguez 9. Floyd Mayweather Jr. 10. Emile Griffith
Journeyman92, I am a great admirer of both fighters. It wasn’t an easy choice, but I think Floyd was a bit better. That said, Emile Griffith was a superb boxer.
