These three are considered the greatest fighters of the modern generation so in terms of overall p4p greatness who is the best?

Jones, Mayweather, Pacquiao, in that order . Three magnificent fighters, and along with Pernell Whitaker, these are the greatest fighters since Leonard and Hagler.

Manny was. He fought more top guys all the time and seemed to relish it, and put his heart into it. You could tell fighting everyone was just normal to him. Jones and Floyd sort of handpicked and avoided some tough guys. Talent? Well Jones, Floyd and Manny.... So the least talented to me is the best as far as history. It happens.

Ezzard Charles is greater than all three ;)

    My order would go

    1. Pac
    2. Mayweather
    3. Jones

But I occasionally change my mind on whose greater between Mayweather and Pacquiao. It's very close imo.

I know of a guy that boxed both Hopkins and Jones.
And both in there primes although Hopkins was just starting off.
He went the distance with Hopkins getting dropped I think 2/3 times.
Jones BLEW him out in 3 rounds.

Jones in his PRIME was on a different level then Pac and Mayweather.

I just don’t see the case for Manny over Floyd…

    Devil's Advocate

His climb in weight compared to where he started. He dared to be great - took on fights when he was the smaller man with the smaller reach against younger fighters.

Fight fan perception. Fought on the front foot and dominated fighters that Floyd was happy to outpoint.

It's a stylistic preference for most people I find - I rank them very close to each other.

We still talking about this? And anyway at light heavy Roy would demolish Charles who never even won a title there.

I think it is a case where Floyd waited for Manny to slip and the fact is Manny fought guys when they were just more top notch.. He fought a lot of great or semi great fighters, something Floyd and Jones sort of avoided by handpicking at the right time.

Nobody has and nobody ever will blow me away like Jones did in his prime.

I’m not going to get into the entire pie with these two because I’m not in a mood to choke, but there is a lot of evidence to suggest both the Manny and Floyd team dropped the ball

He never won a title there because he was avoided.
