Well you stated "never had world class am experience" so i have been going along the path that you weren't aware as he was one of the best amateurs in the world. I would agree he was quite inexperienced professionally when he won the title. I mean he won it in his 9th fight. We have to give credit where it's due however in that after winning it he kept successfully defending it, and in a couple of backyards to boot. I think he was the underdog in two of those three defenses. But despite being favorite hindsight tells us he didn't have the experience to beat an inspired Duran tho the thumb didn't help. It's still a good win as Moore had showed himself extremely tough with good speed and power and a huge heart. I'd certainly rate Moore above Reid.

Canelo was the favourite in the betting and, as far as I’ve read, as per expressed majority opinion. Many predictions understood that Bivol would be Canelo’s toughest opponent and acknowledged that Canelo would likely encounter early round difficulties against his taller opponent, but those same forecasts still allowed for Canelo to somehow “work it out” and “find a way” to get in close and batter Bivol’s body to set up for a clear decision win or even stoppage. Hardly sound rational and analytics with some obvious, blind faith involved but there you go……
I don't care if he won the first four on all cards. On all four cards Bivol had to sweep the last three rounds to win - the scoring was a disgrace. I also wasn't listening to whoever that is. You don't have to be ringside to score. Hitting arms doesn't score points.
It's a rare instance where all judges had the exact same card. That's good judging in my book. And the only difference on my card compared to their's was round 1.
He clearly beats Leonard, he has too much power for him. Although my heart says Hagler, it could go either way. Duran might edge him if both are at 154, but again it's 50:50
Oh please. Canelo's "power" wouldn't bother Leonard, It may go either way on the scorecards vs Hagler but in reality Marvin shuts him out and Duran at his best beats the s**t out of Canelo.
Only 1 of them Canelo can beat is old and not proper trained Duran like Pat Lawlor beat or maybe the Duran when he fight Vinny Paz.
Canelo's power would bother Leonard bigtime. Canelo also has a much better chin. Hagler might shut him out or he might not, it's not guaranteed. Same goes for Duran.
Loses to all of them, with a Hagler KO win possible.. you know what happens if Canelo tries to bang on Hagler.. Hagler dices him up just.like.a.surgeon
I’ve been able to watch the first 4 rounds so far. I’ve got Bivol up 4 rounds to zip, 40-36. The judges scores are appalling. Virtually everything Canelo threw was caught on the arms, elbows, gloves, went around Bivol’s neck or missed/felt short altogether. Canelo also threw a few shots that were low or at least borderline on the waistband - non scoring. He landed a few uppercuts but I wouldn’t call them totally clean or very solid. Meanwhile Bivol was steadily pumping and scoring with the jab, interspersed with periodic salvos that cleanly scored for the most part - Canelo looking frustrated and his head/face already notably marked after 4. It’s an absolute joke that any of the judges could have Canelo 4 rounds up let alone all 3. Their uniformity in this case is an indictment, not something they should be credited for.
