When has a PFP fighter suffered a dominant loss 12-0 or 11-1 and maintained the top spot? Loma fought a bigger Lopez and lost a much closer fight due to an injured shoulder. Lopez knew it and, being a coward, refused a rematch. Canelo was healthy and fought a small LH, and was outclassed. No way is he PFP#1. Maybe bottom half of top ten but not top five. Loma fights bigger guys every match, Usyk fights MUCH bigger guys every match and is expected to win because he’s a PFP fighter. Canelo fought a guy who weighed 183, probably what Canelo weighed on fight day and the loss doesn’t count because “he’s too small”? Come on.
If he was so easy he would have added him to the resume but didn’t for about 7 years and to me sounds like boo boo is a threat. Canelo is just waiting until boo boo declines. I’m not saying boo boo wins but he does poses some problems
please, Canelo is going after the Champs at 168 and 175. If Boo Boo wants that work then he should make some noise at 168, take on a Benavidez or a David Morrell Jr and earn a shot at the P4P King.
It happened last Saturday night We witnessed a helluva fight When Bivol beat Saul In a one-sided brawl And the judges, at last got it right. Canelo’d been beaten before Three times, and perhaps even more But the judges were bent And the young ginger gent Was gifted a dis-honest score. But all of that’s now in the past Mid fight, the young Mexican gassed His corner was worried The more Bivol flurried And fight fans got justice at last.
The difference is that Canelo is still the undisputed super middleweight champion while loma held no titles after that loss.
From a talent standpoint I agree but from a resume standpoint it has been hard to argue Crawford at 147 because of the lack of quality opposition
