I disagree. See my detailed post above: weight has some correlation with punching power, but it is absolutely not determinsitic.
Prime Tyson & Frazier were no more than 15 lbs. apart, sometimes less.
I agree that Tyson hit harder, but your premise that this fairly small difference makes it impossible is incorrect.

I also do not think nobody under 220 hit as hard as Tyson.
If you said "very few" I would agree.
The general consensus is Liston hit harder-prime Liston was 210-215.
When Wilder was under 220 I will bet he hit harder than Tyson.
Tua hit harder at a few pounds heavier, so likely did also when under 220.
I am sure there are some others, & a few who hit about as hard.

lyle was able to legitimately hurt and knock down foreman twice in the same round when foreman was at his prime! AND the second knock down came AFTER foreman had knocked him down! but, foreman knocked him out later.

Iron Mike himself admitted his left hook wasn't as powerful as Frazier's. That said, Mike had a great left hook. No doubt there.

Tyson hit harder than Frazier. Frazier's power has become a bit underrated but Tyson did more damage with less punches than Joe. Numerous times against rated opposition we've seen single hooks have plenty of affect. Frazier had to hit them more often.

Tysons combos were off the scale, if first hard punch did not rattle your brains, then another then another were soon arriving at blinding speed, with immense power and accuracy.

The left hook that finished Tubbs was harder than any of Joe`s hooks, he didn`t finish many fighters off with one hook.

The data comes from the push press / jerk, which is usually performed explosively.

That said, I was citing it more to show that fighters' actual physical abilities, when measured, don't match what we think we see on film.
