Would Tyson make a great trainer?

Peekaboo style is hard to learn, hard to execute and impossible to maintain over 12 rounds

Tyson Fury would have a field day with lil Mike. He'd just close on him into a clinch and break his spine or move off and jib jab him.

Notice how Mike bends at the waist constantly. Hit without being hit.

Very energy intensive - requiring massive drilling and training every day to retain fitness.

I think peak Tyson would be blowing everyone out today - just like in the 80s

Absolutely he would make a great trainer. He knows alot of techniques that would help out plenty of fighters to raise their game to another level. Something alot of these fighters are lacking nowadays.

Would have loved to see him and Tua mix it up when they were both active in the division. It would have been an explosion in the ring.

I’m surprised by how much Mike remembers about the technique. He fell out of love with boxing for a long time. It’s good to see him healthy

Mike's technique is absolutely burned into his memory. All his mechanics are still there. It's impressive.

Tyson would be operating on Fury with boxing gloves instead of scalpels.

I think Fury's low punch output

makes him a sitting duck for Tyson

Tyson had very low punch output himself. About 35-40 punches/rnd in the 80s. His power dropped off considerably after 6 rounds.

That's more than the 10 or so Fury throws in some fights.

Point is Mike was never this high octane relentless pressure fighter that people remember him as. He was low output and a gasser. Fury is low output too yeah but he has that Bernard Hopkins ability to slow down a fight to his pace. Guys who fight him are usually throwing well under their career averages.

lol! Mike was far better offensively than Fury, he would have destroyed his body with ease.

Mike was always trying to land and didn`t gas in the Tucker fight.

Because his opponents were running, Mike was always coming forwards trying to land.
