That's possible, he does has a solid chin but he has been hurt a few times. In the fight with Bivol, I actually believe he was hurt bad in the 11th round after he took a solid left hook and a solid jab. That's when he decided to pick Bivol up and buy himself some time. He felt that and did not want to eat anything more at that particular moment in time and to prevent himself from getting hurt some more and turning a bad night into something much worse. Nevertheless, he has a solid chin and it will take an accumulation of hard shots to crack that think skull he has. Something like the way Shane Mosley pummelled Antonio Margarito.
Canelo can get stopped on attrition. One punch? No...but get him out of his senses then lay it on him and the ref will have to save his little ginger head. Bivol could have forced a stoppage but didn't want to take a risk opening up to Canelo hurt on the ropes. Bivol also needs to work loading on his shots so if he has a hurt Canelo behind a high guard he can start cracking punches off the side of his swole little cranium. Hit a rock with a hammer it will eventually break. This has been proven again and again although Fury is an outlier who seems to get a stronger after he's been hurt, probably because his opponents get zapped mentally when their best shot which normally KO's men hasn't finished him. If Bivol went into that fight with the mentality that he can't win on scorecards he would have put some serious hurt on that midget. He was happy to get on top of Canelo just to muscle him around a little without even throwing punches and taking breaks...very comfortable. Most guys have to run from Canelo to get a break which is hard work.
Golovkin hurt him bad in 2nd fight but to his credit he stayed up but been around bigger guys and even thinking about cw he might get knocked out yet
Canelo has an actual beach ball for a head. I knew had a granite chin, but that fight was legitimately ridiculous. Bivol isn't a super hard puncher, but he can punch decently and he was laying it on Canelo. I don't think anybody below 200 could stop him before he gets older (Like 5 years from now minimum), he has one of the best chins ever.
He might at some point...he's not invincible...think Artur coulda done if he was s couple of years younger..but I think that's it around his weight.... Or ggg if they'd fought a few years earlier..but that ships sailed. No doubt at all copper bollocks has a solid set of whiskers...only seem him hurt 3 times
Although Canelo is clearly the better fighter, I think Joe Smith has the one punch power to score a knockdown.
The worst I've seen him hurt was from Cotto's brother, I believe that was from one punch and Canelo was quite badly hurt. But to be fair Canelo was 19 at the time I believe ?
Canelo has never fought a top level puncher. He's never fought somebody like Lemiuex, Smith or Beterbiev.
So when Canelo ,who on here is purported to be a banger against world class opposition, hit GGG in 1st fight flush ,full on & Canelo eyes opened wide as he backed of as GGG came on @ him where is Canelos Chin v GGG....who has never been down in 400+ Fights Amateur & Pro...
