He might not beat them. He might prove to be hype. But I just don't think they can take that power and I don't think he won't be able to land either. If he catches Errol clean I think he will knock him senseless Terry will be harder to catch but, again, if he catches him clean I think he hurts him real bad. I do think Crawford could catch him too though They've both fought very few punchers, especially their own size Super Boots seemingly hits devastatingly hard with both hands and he can match or exceed both in size Brook KO 65% Ugas KO 37% career 140 pounder who came up Danny KO 53% career 140 pounder Mikey KO 71% blown up 135 pounder whose KO% above 135 = zero Peterson KO 41% career 140 pounder Algieri KO 31% - career 140 pounder Bundu KO 32% Van Heerden KO 36% Ocampo KO 61% even Spence admitted Ocampo had no power Lo Greco KO 47% Porter KO 47% Errol pulls little girl ouch that hurt faces when he gets hit even against light to average punchers This content is protected Crawford was dropped by one of the few genuine bangers he fought his own size. This content is protected Egis can crack but he couldn't stop Abreu. He dropped him but Super Boots is the only man to stop Abreu who is tough and big for the weight This content is protected I'm sure there is someone at 147 who is a bad fit stylistically for Super Boots who could or might beat him. If they are tough enough to take the power or defensively sound enough to get in range and pressure him and catch him with their own big shots they might be able to hurt him and take him out. Or someone might just be able to catch him with a big shot of their own and KO or stop him. But I hear very good things about him from people who've shared a ring with him or seen him up close and personal in the gym. Stephen ''Breadman'' Edwards said he's never seen anyone get the better of him in sparring IIRC
He looks like the goods to me. It would not surprise me to see this kid become the next big thing between WW and MW, but I cannot agree more. He needs to do the deeds. Boxing status is not theoretical. You gotta' fight the fights.
Why do you rank Crawford so highly when he has yet to fight any "elite" fighters. If Crawford was to fight Ennis, Ortiz, or Benn, those would be the best fighters he has fought to date.
Crawford gets hit more than Spence. and Ennis does pretty much so everything better than Crawford if you watch the two. Crawford has yet to truly be tested.
Crawford can be very elusive when he boxes like he did vs Postol (Spence can't do that), but he's never been at a reach advantage in any of his world title fights and, as said, has fought very few punchers. Super Boots can match him for reach and is a serious puncher.
The dude has real skills and the guys that hes been fighting that are looked at as real challenges for him, hes been beating them very easily. Hes not going to get a title shot anytime soon, so id like him to keep stepping up his competition. Maybe fight David Avensyan if Benn gets the Ramirez fight or Thurman, as i think he might be able to do something against Boots.
He look an outstanding contender though but he better avoid Spence otherwise he will be devoured by the big Shark or Whale.
He’s the real deal. Something tells me he would gladly fight either guy and do well but I don’t think Spence or Crawford are in a hurry to fight Boots. They don’t seem to want to fight each other, especially Spence. He’s become a duck specialist.
Thank you for the stats & no one is doubting Ennis power but it has been (let's face it) against no-hopers. This is boxing, you are going to get buzzed & with Spence pressure style, it bound to happen but he's never been down so until that happens, I'm going to say his beard holds up. While Spence doesn't move his head, he does have subtle defense blocking & parrying shots with his gloves. Ennis can't rely just on power to beat Spence because what if Spence can take his punches better than other fighters can. With Dulorme, he was able to hit Ennis with a nasty two-piece while he was hurt...luckily Dulorme was on his way out the door anyway. With Custio, Ennis bit on several feints, Ennis is levels above skillwise so even the feints he bit on, Custio could not make him pay. I want to see him fight his fellow 20 something year old 147 lber or the Thurman, Garcia & Ugas of the world...I remember when Thurman was knocking out fighters too until he got to the elite level...it's different up there.
To the OP, no one is saying he's a P4P fighter yet, only that he may possess the talent to get there. He has a lot to prove but has been very impressive so far.
The hype has been warranted. He’s been continuously giving impressive performances with nice finishes, rarely leaves it to the judges and is always in control while still applying great boxing skills. He’s slowly stepping up his competition while looking great and it’s only a matter of time until he gets his shot at the elites. The best part is his attitude as well. Doesn’t seem like the overly brash outspoken type at all.
