I don't need to "try" anything you condescending twat.. Too much hypocrisy here for me to deal with so I'll just deal with the most deluded double standard. So you state Ward didn''t need to travel but I'm a little confused why? as he was hardly filling the 19000 Oracle Center whilst Joe was getting over 50000 at the Millenium Stadium for the Kessler fight. That delusion right there shows you are not debating this in good faith. Ward was a great boxer but barely known outside the hardcore fans. Yet you telling me that it was ok for him to always fight in his home town. That's just you being a hypocrite and using a double standard. That alone tells me you are not worth wasting time on. You are basically a cut price Herol Gee.
I've had it out with him a few times. I seem to get into it with both the fanboys (Canelo) and the haters (Joe/Lennox/AJ) I just can't help myself/. The thing is I'm not that much of an AJ fan (as a human being) I just have to push back on people calling him a bum when he's a two time unified champion. As for Joe yes you can critique any fighter if you look more closely but he fought most of the people in his era other than Ottke who would have robbed him in Germany as he did Reid. All the other fighters had moved upto Light Heavy which Joe did at the end of his career. So then it gets reframed that he should have done this sooner. All I have to say is tough titty. He retired undefeated and beating two ATG's one of which would win belts afterwards and that's all you can ask for. It's tragic that someone would be so butt hurt and triggered like with TK06 after all these years and still moaning and crying about it now. It's completely pathetic and tragic. Just let it go.......go outside and meet other people. Nobody cares after all these years so it's wasting energy when they could be doing something more productive. Like bashing a few nonses. screws and grasses......
A cut price Herol Gee? Ha! Where’s the hypocrisy? Are you even reading the posts? Did you not read where I said that you can criticise Ward, but he had a huge advantage in that he was from America? I said that you can call it hometown advantage. Or even home country advantage. Again, Ward fought on a huge network that was based in the U.S, in a big tournament which was set up by U.S. promoters, where most of the contestants were based and where the final of the tournament was held. Again, he fought Kovalev, but didn’t need to go to Russia, as Kovalev had gone to the U.S. to build up his profile and his resume. Ward didn’t need to travel for his biggest fights against Kessler, Froch, Dawson and Kovalev etc. Whereas Joe had to travel if he wanted the biggest fights, as his circumstances were completely different. He was a non U.S. fighter who fought in an era where the U.S. had a huge stranglehold on the sport. Those are simply the facts. If Bruno hadn’t have gone to the U.S. there’d have been no Tyson fights. If Hatton hadn’t have gone to the U.S. there’d have been no Floyd and Manny fights. If Naz hadn’t have gone to the U.S. there’d have been no MAB fight. That’s how it was. Those guys made concessions, but Joe never did until his final year. Those are the facts. Joe played it safe. His own comments reflect that. Go and look at his ten year WBO reign, before then taking into account that he’s bragged a number of times throughout the years of his number of WBO defences. He was proud of that reign. And good for him. But it’s the reason why threads likes this get made from time to time. Boxing is a dangerous sport and all of the fighters are warriors. Joe was a warrior. However, stating that he played it safe to protect his zero isn’t being biased and unfair against him. It’s not a witch hunt. Nobody is being unreasonable. It’s just simply what happened. He did what Eubank had done before him. The only difference is, Eubank was honest enough to admit what he was doing, whereas Joe’s ego wouldn’t allow him to admit it whilst he was active.
You like talking about all of these fallacies etc, but you need to evaluate yourself. Nobody is hating. This is just your take on things because you can’t refute what I’ve said. Everything that I’ve said is logical and factual, which again, can be backed up at any point. I haven’t hated on Joe at all in this thread. I’ve said that I’m glad that he didn’t fight Ottke in Germany. I would have hated to have seen him get robbed over there. The Reid fight sickened me. I’ve never seen anything like it. Saying that Joe played it safe isn’t hating on him. Saying that he needed to make concessions that other fighters didn’t need to isn’t hating. All of the emotion is coming from your posts, not mine. Nobody has been triggered or is crying. I joined the thread and said that I could see SOME similarities between Joe and Ramirez. This is just a debate and nothing more.
Honestly I wouldn't waste your time. He's trying to bait you in. This is what he lives for and I've been through it all with him more times than I can remember, going round and round in circles debating the same things over and over again, flogging the same dead horse over and over again, and obviously most normal sane people eventually grow tired of doing this as I did looong ago, again Joe has been retired 14 years, and move on because not only is it incredibly tedious but one also understands what a waste of time it is banging one's head against the brick walls of the exterior of the lunatic asylum he's been sectioned in and hopefully he's never released from for both his and Joe's sake
Yeah I agee mate. not worth wasting time on a cut price Herol Gee... Joe still living rent free in peoples heads.....true sign of a real Champ.
You portray yourself as being an intelligent guy. So I challenge you to show me where on this thread I’ve hated on anyone. I have said that there are SOME similarities between Joe and Ramirez. I have said that Joe doesn’t deserve ANY criticism for not fighting Froch or Ottke. I have said that I’m GLAD that Joe didn’t go to Germany to fight Ottke. Other than that, all I’ve said is that he didn’t make concessions that his fellow Brits did, and for the majority of his career, he played it safe. And he did. That’s not my opinion, that’s a FACT. His resume is there for all to see. His comments are online for all to read. If you think that I’m hating on him by mentioning his resume and his comments, then it’s YOU who has an issue, not me. If you have a problem with what I’ve said, it’s on you. If you want to make me out to be an irrational hater, you can do. However, if you could refute any of my points, then you would have done. Again, I challenge you to highlight any part of any post which shows where I’ve hated. Show me.
It's worth remembering that Zags would have fought in the US a full 3 years before the Lacy fight - a deal with Hopkins was agreed, to fight in US, with B-Hop getting a bumper 3 million payday - much more than his previou fight and successive fights. But just as the deal was waiting to be signed, Bernard double his pay demands to 6 million. This was from Jay Larkin, Showtimes VP of Sports at the time of the deal. Now I don't think Bernard was scared to fight Joe, but I do think he felt it was too high-risk. Hops then went on to fight Hakkar, then Joppy for like way less than half the money probably combined than what he would have got from the Zags fight. It would have been very interesting to see how their fortunes might have changed if that fight did go ahead.
