Metcalf landing a beautiful overhand and Kerman goes down. Looked like a Knockdown but the ref rules it a slip. Need to rewatch a replay here but it looked like a legit knockdown. Kerman jabbing well enough to keep Metcalf away from him but James stepping in with that right - left hook combo a couple of times and he's finding the mark. Metcalf landed a few really good shots late and got the attention of Kerman. Another close round. Kerman edged it.

Edit: Yep. Clear knockdown. Was behind the ear but a knockdown....

 

Seemed like J.J. was screwed out of a KD. Let's see.

 

Metcalf looks stronger all around to me and like he's running away with the rounds. yikes

Yep, hard shot to the side of Kerman's head sent him down. Seemed to have a discombobulating effect besides, not just flash/balance.

Another close round. Lejarraga outworked him slightly. Metcalf is too much on the backfoot. Needs to improve the optics.

 

Kerman looked physically beleaguered/weary when they met in the clinch. I'd imagine Metcalf's plan will be to step in more in the second half of the fight.

Kerman's defense has improved a lot, I heard he has been training with Cuban Ismael Salas in Las Vegas
