Winky never fought a fighter in his prime as great as Carlo IMO.

Paul Williams had no problems and Williams isn't a better boxer no does he have more power than Charlo.

Wright better overall, but bad style matchup for him, he was flat footed, exactly what someone like Charlo likes, imaginative combinations, fast feet, exiting and approaching for angles, I see him getting lit up a bit as stupid as it may sound to some of you, Charlo doesn’t like to have to chase an opponent, but pressure fighters or flat footed fighters are exactly his cup of tea, explosive fast combinations, quick feet and Wright falling short with the flat feet, Wright liked opponents who didn’t come at him from angles and stayed on the centre line so he could get his jab off, because that’s the easiest type of fighter to control with the jab

    Winky all day easy.
The guy who beat Winky (Harry Simon) would have destroyed Charlo.

Winky all day, no chance Charlo can deal with the Winky jab.

I like Castano but if he could beat Charlo in the first fight (in my estimation) then Winky could probably do so by convincingly winning 9+ rounds. I certainly don't think Charlo is better than early 2000s Mosley and Winky took him to slick school. He also beat Tito just as badly as B-Hop did. Thought he deserved to get the nod against Jermain as well.

Come on man. Winky was 38 and hadn't fought in 2 years when he fought Paul.

And Winky already looked old 2 years earlier when he fought B-Hop...

Winky was not royalty. His 154 resume is based on beating Shane Mosley, who was grossly overrated at 154.

Winky didn’t start planting his feet and settling into his style until about 99. Charlo should be favored over any version of Winky from the Vargas fight or earlier.

From 200-2004, I’d favor Winky to win a close decision. He likely wouldn’t get knocked out or seriously hurt, which is an issue for Charlo. Charlo would still make it really close though through willpower and letting his hands go. Shane made the rematch w Winky fairly close, and Charlo should at least be able to match that.

Winkys beaten Shane Mosley twice and Felix Trinidad. Also arguably won against Fernando Vargas. Yeah I would say he’s better.

He covered up in the last round and let Vargas throw. Blew it.
