Examples of when a fighter had their opponents number despite the opponent being a better fight. Better examples would be if they fought more than once.

Can't be called a superior fighter if you lose.

Do you have Norton above Ali in your ATG rankings then? Or Barkley above Hearns.

Hm. How to phrase this properly. Let's use Iran and Hearns. Iran is the superior fighter between them two he is however not a more accomplished fighter. If you beat a guy fair and square you're plain as day his superior. That shouldn't sound too whacky.

Never believed this Norton had Ali’s number crap. When they were both closest to their best Ali won by a clear margin and outclassed Norton in the first half of the fight.

I’m also not among those who think Norton was robbed in the third bout with Ali.

I’d sooner believe Frazier has Ali’s number than Norton does.

Willie Pep had Sandy Saddler’s number that one time but the other three fights show Saddler was the vastly superior guy.

Chavez maybe had the excuse of age/career mileage and I am with swagdelfadeel over Ali/Norton but the other four are thread ending examples, they are so good.

Iran over Hearns has to be the best example.
