I see he is matched in tough against some dude that is 20-19-1. with 6 wins by KO I know it makes me a hater but I hope this clown gets sparked.
I didn't know he was still fighting. The last time I heard of him was getting a draw against Alexander and that was what 4 years ago?
Took an L at the hands of fellow yesterday's man Bob Guerrero last year. Quite an entertaining affair for what it was, two shot guys trying to regain some relevance. Wouldn't surprise me if he lost again tonight. Todd is no worldbeater, but he isn't that bad, despite his record, and he's naturally bigger.
Ah I must have missed that one. Victor was in some entertaining fights he just had a knack of hitting the self destruct button on occasion.
He seems more willing to hang in there when the going gets tough these days. Maybe that's just an illusion stemming from ongoing capriciousness and he's due a meltdown any time now, I dunno. But if his grit and resolve to bite down has indeed strengthened, it's too bad that it came too late to maximize the potential he had in his prime. (For the record, I was never high on him, but we can probably all agree he should have done a bit more and and a bit better with what he had.)
Yeah I agree. I think he had more to show but never really did after the first Berto fight which was a classic and probably made a lot of people expect more ffrom him.
It's more than you're probably doing tonight. I seen Victor live in San Jose in like 2008 or 2009 on the undercard of James Kirkland v Joel Julio. I believe he was fighting Mike Arrenoutes. Blew him out in 2 rounds like a sparring then said after the fight that he expected the people of Greece to be tougher than that... How can you not love this kid?
Sure, pay me no mind... https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/victor-manuel-ortíz-vs-todd-anthony-jermaine-manuel.686749/
thats good, i ran into him at the barclay center on the undercard of redcak vs garcia a few yrs ago, despite the **** talk from forum fans he had a lot of fans happy to see him in brooklyn
