The cat seems to be out of the bag now. I believe Canelo was avoiding Charlo and Andrade. Why fight them when you can go up and fight easier fights style wise and get double the credit? They made a big mistake fighting Bivol, because Bivol went the distance recently with someone Callum Smith KOED, big mistake. Now Benavides is coming out to play, it's a bad time to be Mr. PFP face of boxing.

Exactly the Canelo fangirls have had a breakdown since the Bivol fight and been going mental. This means conflating GGG is crap because he didn't "dare to be great" despite being a career Middle. They say he's crap despite him beating Ginger twice who then gets robbed yet lack the self awareness and brain function to not realise the irony. They don't want the fight with Benavidez as they suspect like we all do that Canelo could well take another loss so we get asinine threads like this pitching a young lion at a higher weight division fighting a 40 yr old.
    Benavidez would tap that arse...

Trout would get mauled and Lara barely beat Martirosyan, you have to come up with something better than that. I would love to see GGG maul Trout, although I like Trout, it would look something like the Rolls fight or the Monroe fight. Remember this also Lara had trouble with Angulo, GGG would win that one as well, but Lara could potentially be more difficult in all honesty.

Exactly the hypocrisy of even mentioning Charlo and Andrade when Ginger didn''t want that smoke is hilarious if it wasn't so demented and deluded. They apply a set of standards that they then ignore when it's their fighter. Ginger went up to Super Middle because it was easier pickings than staying at Middle and clearing it out. He only fought Kovalev because he was shot and they forced a short camp. They only picked Bivol because he didn't look good in his two previous fights and hadn't KO'd anyone in 5 years. If he ever fights Beterbiev it will be in a couple of years when he has slowed down just like he did against GGG.

I don't mind people making threads about one fighter fighting another and asking for an opinion, I do it alot myself. But I get your point.

I agree there isn't a problem making the thread itself it's the fact like with the Op that Benavidez doesn't deserve the fight with Ginger because he hasn't fought anyone. So it's this double standard I have an issue with. I'm not a GGG fanboy either I'm just a boxing fan but I do feel that sometimes I need to push back on the blatent BS.

Don't be surprised if Canelo fights GGG and then they both retire, because where does Canelo go from here? Bivol? Benavides? Beterbiev? Who? Maybe Mall Charlo or his irritating brother, maybe Andrade, Spence, Crawford? Or maybe he takes the easy way out when it gets too hot in the kitchen like Andre Ward, on the arrival of Beterbiev and Bivol. Just sneak out the back Jack.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say to some of the fanboys. Options are thin after a GGG fight. I don't fancy Gingers chances in a rematch with Bivol and would get KO'd if he fought Beterbiev who clearly punches a lot harder. He could potentialy go to Cruiser and fight Makabu but seeing how slow and how poor Canelo's gas tank was at Light Heavy then that may not be a good idea.
I think there's also reasons why Ginger skipped on Charlo and Andrade so I don't think they are viable either. So I think GGG retires after his next fight and Canelo will need to think about how he proceeds.

It's a great time to be a fan of boxing.

Hopefully more fighters follow Canelo's throwback style and take on real challenges.

Canelo is finished unless he can man up like Hagler did after Hearns destroyed Duran. If he can KO Benavides or win a fair decision, which is proven to be impossible score wise because of the complete crookedness of the judges, then he could begin to live up to the hype. Canelo is walking on thin ice right now. He needs to be extra careful about his next move. One more devastating loss could take away his cash cow status. Imagine Canelo getting destroyed by Benavides then demanding a huge purse. Being the so called face of boxing comes with alot of responsibilities. Ducking is no longer acceptable.

Canelo has a **** ton of fans not because he's undefeated, because he's not, not because he's a KO artist, because he's not, and not because he's a chin out fighter.. he has a **** ton of fans because he fights anyone, more so than the other big names in this era.

Some fighters need to stay undefeated to keep their aura such as Golovkin, who as soon as he lost, half his fans disappeared. Other fighters like De La Hoya, Pacquiao, Canelo, they can lose a fight but keep their fan base because the fans we appreciate fighters who take challenges win or lose.

Honestly, Canelo looks slower to me as well. The loss of speed may hurt Canelo more than Beterbiev, because the physicality is all on Artur's side. In a face-to-face slugfest I'd take The Steamroller every day.

Canelo is a excellent fighter but he gotten too much help along the way. He cheated and stole at the expense of other fighters careers and legacy. Golovkin wins the first huge legacy fight only to be robbed a clear victory. If Canelo fights go to the cards he pretty much has to be shut out for his apponents to get a decision, that's why he only had one loss. I don't think Golovkin getting robbed negatively affected his fan base, lm sure he has just as many fans now as before. Trout, Lara, GGG, maybe twice should have wins over Canelo. It's nice to see someone beat him so clearly that not even his corrupt judges could save him. The problem is Benavides, I believe can beat Canelo as bad or worse than Bivol did. I would respect Canelo more if he lost the fights that he should have lost and kept plugging along instead of getting victories he didn't deserve. He still hasn't admitted he lost to Bivol. Canelo must be saying, fire those damn judges.
