Pavlik also lost only once badly, and that was to your #5 at SMW. He lost only once at MW, and that was towards the end of his career against Sergio Martinez.

 

Possibly one reason Ketchel is rated highly is that he at least got in the ring with BOTH Sam Langford AND Jack Johnson. The Langford fight was officially a no decision although most thought Sam won in a terrific, action filled bout. Gotta give him some props for those two fights whereas most white fighters avoided JJ and SL like the plague.

He does look awful vs Papke on film.

 

And yet Taylor beat said #5; as well as beating Spinks and Joppy. He belongs above Pavlik.

Thanks bud. Yep, One of the greatest to ever do it Emile was a real fighter in the same vein as Toney with his fight anybody attitude. He could’ve whipped them all Oscar, Trinidad, Mayweather, Mosley, Pac, Tszyu, JCC, Pernell etc. From 140lbs-160lbs he’d be king we wouldn’t debate who is P4P if he’d been around for all those fighters.

Taylor came back and won a belt and drew with Winky Wright too. Better resume than Pavlik, but not necessarily a better fighter.

 

Sounds like the Saddler-Pep argument. Pep has the better resume; Saddler KO'd him.

 

Moyle is pretty convincing that Langford was carrying Ketchel for a lucrative return bout.

Can`t think of 10 middleweights in history that could beat McCallum easily.

 

Based on resume, you'd have to say Greb is the MW GOAT.
But if we are judging in terms of boxing ability and H2H, guys like Monzon, Hagler and Robinson would probably obliterate him.
