50-0 has been done many times throughout history. Those fighters just chose not to retire. Floyd just fought Saturday and has done several times since “retiring”. He’s playing the game to keep that 0. It’s not all that impressive when you see how many guys actually achieved it but kept on going.
Mayweather was better. Overrated, but still better than Pac. Greater? I will give it to Pac just to **** off @Pimp C In reality it's a very tough call.
Furey worthless, and I have nothing against you. I'm just commenting on the modern understanding of boxing. It could happen again. Someone could also be a champion in 9 categories. If there were 35 categories.
Why do you think Floyd is better than Pac? In common opponents, Pac smoked Cotto, Hatton, and De La Hoya. Hatton and Oscar were competitive with Floyd and Cotto took him deep. Pac was knocked out by Marquez and Marquez was schooled by Floyd under vastly different scenarios. Floyd schooled Mosley and Pac dropped Mosley and had him running for survival. If you want to compare H2H, you really can't as Pac was iced in the twilight of his career (people are calling 33 year old Crawford old right now) and most said we'd never see him in the ring again. Not to mention, Floyd was on PEDs and cycling w/ illegal IV fluids. Your opinion is your opinion, but I'm curious to know why you think Floyd is straight up better when they never met in their respective primes.
I think entertainment value has to be factored in. Every FMJ fight after Gatti was a snooze fest. He said it himself, no-one is better at legalised bank robbery than him. He made millions whilst not providing any entertainment. Boxing every fight and relying on judges is dull and cowardly. It worked for him but it wasn't fun for us.
Watched the whole video; excellent as usual. And very diplomatic. Final comment from me on this whole enchilada: Floyd isn't 50-0. The McGregor fight was no more a professional boxing match than when Dempsey fought the wrestler. 49-0 is still pretty good.
In any analysis the truth must come out which is Mayweather is superior to Pacquiao. Marquez is Daddy to Pacquiao when it comes to boxing which makes Pacquiao, Floyd’s grand child in boxing terms.
He's better because anyone who knows boxing can see it. If you need 4 fights against jmm then you're not better than pbf. If you lost to a faded erik Morales you're not better than pbf and most importantly he was schooled by a shot pbf when they fought proving he was better. FACTS!
I'm at work and do not have time to respond to the thread subject. This is one of those subjects where intelligent men are making diametrically opposed but equally valid points. That always makes for a good thread. It is a really good topic and I look forward to watching Rummy's video.
Floyd dragged JMM up 2 weight divisions and then missed the catchweight on purpose. And let's not pretend III and IV versions of Marquez were anything close to the one Floyd fought. Floyd got his stool pushed in by Castillo. Marquez > Castillo. Faded Erik Morales almost beat Maidana and Danny. Maidana pushed Floyd's stool in, but was shut out by Devon Alexander. Let that sink in. Pac would KO Maidana, Guerrero, Ortiz, and Berto. Don't play dumb. And finally, Floyd was caught using illegal IV fluids after a 5 year duck and fought a shot Pac that was iced 3 years earlier and most predicted we'd never see him in the ring again. Pac never cared who he fought. Floyd, as stated MULTIPLE TIMES himself, said he picked and chose who he wanted to fight, including stalling the Pac fight. BIG FACTS.
I dont want to hear excuses. The fact is jmm was offered a rematch a career high payday and a shot at redemption yet he turned pbf down but was willing to fight pac 4 times. Why? Because he knew he couldnt beat pbf and pac wasn't as good and was an easier fight for him. If you want to say a razor close fight either way is getting your **** pushed in , fine it only shows how desperate you're to try and make it look like pbf was dominated and ktfo like pac was multiple times. Pbf didn't need 4 fights with jlc in the rematch he proved without a doubt he was superior something pac couldn't do in 4 tries against jmm. Maidana did nothing the second half of that fight after pbf was cut early. Pbf adjusted and won. In the rematch once again he proved dominance even while faded and didn't need 4 fights to do it. Even still maidana gave pbf a harder fight than pac did let that sink in. Finally on May 2nd 2015 the day your life ended a shot pbf who had been ducked for years by pac got exposed and outboxed and taken to slick school in one of PBF's easiest fights in years proving he was superior in a fight that wasn't even worthy of a rematch. FACTS!!!!
Pimp, you are getting a bit hysterical in here today. JMM and Pac fought 4 times, and it could have been a 5th, because that's what people wanted to see. Not another washout against Floyd. The JMM-Pac series combined two of the most rabid fan bases and would always attract attention. Yeah I know PBF was a draw, but I'd bet more people would watch JMM-Pac TODAY than a JMM-Floyd rematch. I think you are getting baited by Pac fans today, and you're taking the bait!
You said Pac didn't deserve a rematch because it wasn't close, so why did Floyd offer Marquez a rematch when Marquez was shut out? And Marquez flat out said he didn't want to rematch Floyd because Floyd's only interested in running. You just schooled yourself here in your own response. Floyd didn't rematch Pac because he didn't want to see Pac w/ VADA testing and no illegal IVs. Vast majority of people had JLC being robbed. JLC's a good fighter, but his place in history will be a good fighter and his fight w/ DC. Marquez is a certified ATG and a Top 10 counterpuncher at worst in the history of the sport. Pac went up against a stylistic nightmare who kicked it up 3 or 4 gears in III and IV. Nah, Floyd and his family didn't even think he won. Watch the winner announcement. Floyd was shitting bricks. Pac ducked Floyd? Floyd told your dumbass he picked and chose who he wanted to fight. He told your dumb ass that he waited until the time was right to fight Pac. LOL! Dude told you these things and you still Pac ducked him? Pac went looking for Crawford at age 42 and settled for Spence and then got Ugas. Pac fought Marquez 4X and wanted to run it back a 5th. History and proven track record that Pac ducks NO ONE.
