VAA, one of the most unheralded guys to go against an elite fighter, put on a boxing clinic on the guy they called a grandmaster of boxing... So why isn't this dude talked about more?
Still a stunning victory and it wasn't like he got lucky w/ a haymaker. It was a comprehensive schooling w/ boxing and timing.
Fair enough, Astroboy surprisingly did outbox the older veteran enough. Still, can't discount the fact that Rigo is already washed up and just isn't the same fighter as he once was after he quit against Loma.
Even though he was 41 Rigo could still have won this fight but once again he chosed to fight a negative fight and was more worried about not getting hit and look cool making cute defensive moves than letting his hands go and hit the other guy. Boxing is hit and not get hit but for Rigo most of his career his aproach was not get hit and not get hit.
He didn't run in this fight as much as he did against Casimero. 41 but still slippery and agile for his age. He thought he won both fights.10 yrs ago he might have in the Floyd era where hit, run, move was in fashion. Unanimous victory to be honest. Casimero spooked him something major. Dude was doing laps around the ring petrified to engage. They don't want to fight Casimero this Butler kid just won a belt wit some BS reasones. Sauna! G damn. What in the heavens.
