I agree, noway would people claim FM as the greatest with 8 losses on his record. That being said, no emotions or bias, who accomplished more in their career? 50 and 0 is impressive. Is it more impressive than an 8 division champ? I did not watch the video(at work). Whose career would you rather have?
They’re neck and neck, gun to my head I’d probably put Pac one spot ahead. Though I’d probably give to edge to Floyd H2H, anywhere between 130 to 147(in an a lot more competitive match up than the one they actually had, maybe Floyd tasting the canvas for the first time). And I don’t know how their career’s would be like in the 1940s, but I’m pretty sure they’d fight each other 5 times.
Of course they wouldn't that's why people always ignore it when I bring it up because they cant refute it. Pac is more well liked and people didn't like pbf they bought his fights to see him lose. So if they can't say he was greater than pac while being 50-0-0 no way in hell would they say he was greater than pac if he had a 62-8-2 record like pac had.
I really don't get it when I read posts saying things like Floyd took the right fights at the right time insinuating he was looking for the safest route. Absolute rubbish Floyd continuously took on the best. Floyd beats a hofer sfw champion for his first world title, then just look at his sfw resume. It's excellent. He doesn't just beat a good champion but defended against several of the top fighters in the division - Manfredy, Chavez, Hernandez, Corrales Goes up to LW and takes on the top man, WW and Floyd beat the champion but also defended against Judah which I think deserved massive credit. Judah was the top WW and he lost to Baldimor in a surprise loss. Not so many seemed interested in Judah but several I recall were looking to face Baldimor When Floyd fought Oscar and Cotto, they were coming off impressive performances as was Maidana, Ortiz, Pacquiao, Guerrero, Mosley to name a few It's not like he fought them when they were not coming off decent wins and Oscar and Cotto were at SWW
Pac did agree to Floyd's privately contracted and rigged drug testing program. Pac just wanted a cutoff window for which there was precedence for (see video from when Pac said that he felt having blood taken from him close to the fight weakened him). Rejecting drug testing would be flat out saying no (like Floyd refusing to use VADA in their fight). Floyd should have fought him as it was highly unlikely that Pac could get any gains from juicing 3 weeks out. And Pac had already agreed to Floyd receiving top billing, second on the scales, and second to the ring.
Didn't Floyd have 2 world titles to Pacquiaos 1 at WW at that time? I would guess the unified champ would get top billing over the rival champion? I can't remember if either were considered the lineal champ at the time
Reluctant to fight him again? III took place in November 2011. IV took place in December 2012. Once again, Marquez didn't want to fight Floyd again because he wasn't interested in facing a guy who wouldn't come to fight. And he knew w/ Pac there'd be no shenanigans like the missed catchweight. JLC pushed Floyd's stool in. 90% of boxing fans had Floyd losing. Clear robbery. This content is protected Floyd KNEW lost. Peep them fake arm pumps and shitting-multiple-bricks look on his face. Floyd done told your dumb ass he waited until the time was right to fight Pac. Floyd also done told your ass that he cherrypicked because he could. He boasted about this as recently as accusing Clenelo of ducking Benevidez, but acknowledged that he earned the right. Floyd said he wanted Sergio Martinez at a catchweight and then crickets after Martinez iced Williams. Floyd said he wanted Winky and then fell quiet when Winky said let's do it. Pac wanted Crawford or Spence at age 42 and he fought a juiced-to-the-gills Marquez 4X. There is a proven history of Pac chasing greatness. And then Floyd ducked VADA testing, $5 million dollar dirty test penalty, and used illegal IVs in the Pac fight. Floyd ended his career on Berto and 0-0-0 MacGregor. Floyd's a fraud. DEAL WITH IT NOW AND FOREVER.
I've read before that Mayweather refused VADA testing, but I have never seen official confirmation. Do you have a source?
https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...penalty-clause-for-failed-drug-test/25058577/ There was also a video with Ellerbe confirming that it was proposed and he stated that Pacquiao would lose a lot more than $5 million if he popped dirty.
Didn't come to fight but dropped him while not losing a round in the process. No jmm didn't want to fight him because he knew he had no answers for pbf but had many answers for pac who he put in a coma. Once again nonsense a close fight isn't a robbery. You're an irrational pbf hater. Pbf had like only 2 close fights his entire career and he ran it back and won clearly. You know what a robbery is? What happened to agipito sanchez when he pushed pacs **** in and got a draw. Another no hoper who was robbed a win over pac. You see what you want to see he was surprised that it wasn't a ud win for himself. Who pulled out if negotiations and ran off to fight clottey dumbass? It was pac that's who anything else but saying him is a lie because that's what happened. You want to rewrite history but too bad for you people like me know better and know what really happened and won't let you get away with flat out lies. Pac better be glad the money wasn't right for Crawford or he'd be sipping from a straw still to this day. You saw the beating ugas gave him. Crawford would've best the life outta him. Pac is more popular that's why peolpe have every excuse in the book for his loses and overhyped his wins. He lost to bums and was ktfo 3x in his career by people he had no business to. He lost to a bum in horn a trashman in a cherrypick gone wrong let that sink in. He's a great fighter but very flawed and very beatable. He lost wide to pbf and isn't better nor greater than him period. You deal with that 8 losses 3 by ko and 2 draws though.
Good point, he also had triple and quadriple the fights of both Pac and FM. Most of those losses were well beyond his prime. At one point he was 128-1. ATG status right there.
