What if Rocky Marciano fought in Mike Tyson's era?

How would Marciano have fared in Tyson`s era if he had been born the same year as Tyson?

 

He'd have been a Contender. And probably not in the heavyweight s?

 

Marciano would have had several losses due to disqualification on his record.

 

I mean he would fight at CW against the likes of Dwight Braxton and Evander and others of their ilk

 

born 1966 if he start late like he has in 1940S it is him at prime on something around 1996.

 

Rocky Marciano retires undefeated 60-0. Mickey Goldmill guides Rocky through the 1980's like he did with another Rocky, that Rocky was Rocky Balboa. Lol.

I think he might have benefitted from the cruiserweight division. If he had taken that path then he might have been a unified champion there. Evander Holyfield would have been his hardest obstacle but I think Rocky could have beaten THAT smaller and greener version of Holy. Still a tough fight though. If he had tried his luck at heavy then he might have been a fairly fit 195-200 lbs and perhaps beaten some of the fringe guys at the time. But his size would most likely have prevented him from ever reaching the upper echelon of the late 80s and 90s at heavyweight. Even guys like Razor Ruddock and Bonecrusher smith would have been very hard and dangerous fights for Marciano.

 

He would have to be carefully managed because the average contender was 6'3 and 215+. So many guys with good jabs, decent power, skill, etc.

I could see him beating Weaver for the title, but that would be a dangerous fight and I certainly wouldn't make Rocky the favorite.

Rocky might be able to beat Berbick, that's also a dangerous fight and Idk if Rocky would be the favorite there either.

Smith probably stops Rocky late if he actually tries to win.

Douglas, Thomas, and Holmes at their best would box Rocky's head off making him look stupid.

Page and Witherspoon beat him up however they wish. Either through boxing, slugging, or counter punching.

Of the contenders, I could see him beating fighters such as Tillis, Snipes, Cobb, Leon. Williams could end up outboxing him with his insane jab and ridiculous reach advantage. Ruddock might end up knocking him out.

While the 80's were a relatively weak era, lots of guys in that decade give him nightmares. It would be a miracle if Rocky managed to win even 1 of the 3 belts. He's just too limited and would have to go for the KO against almost any half decent opponent. Many of the heavies in this era were well rounded and fairly athletic, and they would enjoy crazy advantages in height, reach, and weight.

Speaking of weight, unless Rocky can bulk up to at least 205 lbs without losing his stamina, I give him less than a 20% chance against any of the boxers listed above.

 

Yeah when the Attorney was reading out the will in Rocky 5, he said that the gym was willed to Rocky's son by Mickey Goldmill.

Well, he wouldn't be a HW. If he could keep his power and stamina when cut down to LHW, that's the clear choice. If he can't, fight at cruiser.
