I agree, hard sparring sessions happen, and they happen quite often in some gyms. But that's not a hard sparring session, that's an idiot totally losing control over himself. I've only seen 2 kind of guys react like that: 1) noobs, people who have sparred a couple of times, maybe 5 or 10 times. Those guys are nervous as ****, not their fault actually, they have a lot to learn. 2) idiots who are being schooled and beaten to a pulp and their egos cannot admit it for whatever reason (maybe the reason is just that they are idiots).

Obviously there is no noob in this video.

The session in the clip certainly descended into farce. I was responding specifically to Mark's general assertion that going all-out (or close to it) is a sparring no-no that only a scrub trainer would permit.

This isn’t alarming to me. I like competition. I disliked very much Anne Wolfe instructing James Kirkland to beat the **** out of a sparring partner who actually was trying to spar.

I don`t even know what you`re talking about, who were these fighters? They lost because they weren`t taught defense properly in sparring, all you`re talking about is pressure figting or high volume punching.

No you do not punch full force in sparring, you just practise you`re fundamentals.

How much boxing have you done and how many sparrings have you watched with high level pros?

High level pros drop or knock out their sparring partners on a regular, it gets wild in sparring, especially if you come from a different gym, sometimes you have to fight for your life, it builds character and gets you ready for the fight. I watched Floyd drop 2 guys in the same round for an example and Wlad Klitschko used to have a “thing” for dropping sparring partners in camp, friend of went to one of his camps, got a beating but never got dropped and ended up get a bonus because he was the only one that didn’t get dropped, knocked out or sent home. I seen boxers being carried out of the ring after sparring.

You have to go all out in training/sparring if you want to be able to go all out in a real fight.

Insane, those gyms need looking at, Floyd couldn`t punch hard anyway.

It’s not “those gyms”, it’s every boxing gym in the world, it’s a part of boxing and that’s how you get ready for a fight.

Btw, those ppl I saw sparring with Floyd that day (I think it was before his Victor Ortiz fight) was a few ex champions and I bet you that they will say that Floyd punches hard enough.

Perhaps not brawls, but best be sure beatdowns occur in their gym as well.

How do you surmise the entire room of people are idiots? Only the 2 sparring were acting stupid.

There's a reason Davis is fighting this guy.
