I haven't seen Lara fight in years. If his slipperiness and feet are gone he's dead meat against Golovkin.

I very much suspect that the Canelo fight will be GGGs last.

He's gonna have to knock ginger out to get the W and Canelo has a cement chin.

I gotta be honest, I'd rather see GGG fight Lara next. I think that's a more interesting fight. I feel like GGG vs Lara is a legacy fight for both guys. Munguia Lara would be a great fight too but I feel that Munguia would just outwork Lara and get a decision. And Munguia isn't a PBC fighter. GGG isn't a PBC fighter either but after fighting Canelo he really has no reason to stay on DAZN.

I mean Munguia vs GGG would be the fight to make for DAZN but then we have a passing of the torch fight. Munguia I think would beat GGG especially after taking a beating from Canelo. It would be a smarter move for GGG to leave DAZN after fighting Canelo (if he loses) and go to PBC to fight Lara, a guy his age which he probably has a better chance of beating than Munguia.

Munguia vs GGG would be a barnstormer. After what I saw of GGG vs Murata, anybody with light feet is gonna give him hassles at this point in his career.

Nobody cares about Lara. There's no money there.

I do like the fight because its been talked about for years and they have both declined so why not? But Munguia fighting an unknown Brit in Kelly at this stage of his career just isnt acceptable to me. Munguia is a big enough star in the sport that he needs those career defining fights right about now.

Don't you think it would generate interest? A WBA Middleweight unification battle of 40somethings? It's a path for GGG to reclaim his career if he loses to Canelo in September. Don't you think 39/40 year old Lara would be easier for GGG to beat at 41 than Munguia? Munguia is a workhorse I don't see how GGG could win a decision against Munguia. And especially if GGG suffers a devastating loss to Canelo. 39/40 year old Lara is an easier bounce back fight for GGG to win if he loses in September. If he fights Munguia after losing to Canelo, it could very well send him into retirement on a 2 fight losing streak without any titles with a passing of the torch fight to Munguia. I don't think GGG's fans could stomach that. I could see GGG bouncing back from a Canelo loss and actually being the first fighter to ever stop Lara which would be a feather in his cap to end his career on a high.

But what's the smarter move for GGG if he loses to Canelo in September? Who would GGG have a better chance of beating next year : Munguia or 40 year old Lara? If you're GGG you don't want to end your career losing all your titles to Munguia do you?

I just think it makes sense for both GGG and Lara to end their careers fighting each other. It's a legacy fight, they both are about the same age. They both hold World Titles at Middleweight. And if the winner still wants to continue after that, the winner could fight Jermall for Undisputed.

It would be a barnstormer, but GGG is gonna be in a barnstormer in September against Canelo. Fighting Munguia after Canelo would be crazy. 40 year old Lara would be a lot easier for GGG to look good against if he suffers a loss to Canelo in September. Canelo GGG 3 is going to be a war OK. GGG and Canelo will both need 8 months off after this. If GGG wins, the world is his oyster. But if he loses, he still is a unified MW Champ, and I can't imagine he'd retire as Unified Middleweight Champ. So then it would be either fight Munguia on DAZN which is a much more dangerous fight for a 41 year old. Munguia who does not hold any World Titles at Middleweight. Lara would be his WBA mandatory as regular Champ. I just think in that scenario it makes a lot more sense for GGG to fight Lara, a guy his age with a title. Munguia is likely to punish GGG, take all his titles and send him into retirement. Whereas vs Lara, GGG has a great chance to end his career on a high vs a title holder in a unification. With the possibility of a fight with Jermall for Undisputed if he wins and wants to continue, which I would also think is a more winnable fight for 41 year old GGG than Munguia.

No G already has the WBA. Charlo makes most sense out of all the fights for obvious reasons.

So you would want to see him chase Undisputed at 160. GGG has the WBA (Super) Title at Middleweight but Lara is the Regular WBA Champ. I mean, ideally, for GGG, it would make sense for Charlo to fight Lara first, and for the winner to fight GGG for Undisputed. After all Lara and Jermall are currently under the same promotion. But Lara as WBA regular Champ would be GGG's mandatory since GGG is the (Super) WBA Champ at Middleweight so GGG vs Lara would naturally take precedence. But since GGG is a DAZN fighter he would have to sign with PBC for that to happen. But from GGG's perspective, if he's chasing legacy, him fighting Munguia does nothing for his legacy. The path for Undisputed at Middleweight goes through Lara and Jermall, and if GGG loses to Canelo in September, that's his path for legacy.

More that Charlo is the next best MW after G. He's already unified the division and successfully defended his titles against Canelo, Martirosyan, Jacobs and Brook.

All he can realistically do now is just beat the best possible names in the division.

I would like to see GGG vs Jermall fight for Undisputed, that's a big fight, but if GGG takes a beating against Canelo in September, does it make sense for GGG to go right into the Jermall Charlo fight coming off of a loss? Surely Lara vs GGG would make sense to happen first, to unify the WBA and see if GGG (or Lara for that matter) is ready for Jermall Charlo. Because they both are about the same age, it makes sense to put two guys who are in their 40s to fight each other first. Otherwise GGG would be fighting for Undisputed at Middleweight coming off what could be a devastating loss to Canelo. You would want GGG to go into an Undisputed fight vs Jermall coming off a win to set that up and beating Lara could do that for him. Also Jermall has no real reason to fight Lara now, because it wouldn't be for Undisputed. Jermall would want to do what his brother did at 154 if he had the opportunity to become Undisputed at 160, and he would need GGG for that to happen.

    Not from me.

I'd watch because it's GGG but I've never thought lara was that great to begin with. The only upside would be that Lara is a guy that people feel beat Canelo. If Golovkin beats his skull in, and he would, it's yet more proof of who is better.
