Yeah not a great list by any mark. I forget when a lot of fights happen and I think I have a bit of a blind spot apart from a few select fighters in the era because I am lame. Just thought I'd try and have a crack.

 

You’re probably thinking of Tiger vs Griffith 1 ….both guys were in their primes and a much closer fight

Gaspar Ortega vs Benny Kid Paret I don't know if it was the 1st or 2nd fight, but this was an amazing 10 round slugfest, even it was the 1st fight. It was right at the end of 1959 anyway, literally few months before 60s.

Florentino Fernandez' bouts with Rory Calhoun and Jose Gonzalez were tremendous. Also, so many of Gaspar Ortega's bouts. Aside from the ones mentioned I would also mention his bout with Federico Thompson.

 

Glad to see Floyd get some love. For the flak he gets, he did give us some amazing fights against accredited contenders.

Hadn’t seen the Cokes-Hayward fight. Just watched it today - you could definitely see the size difference between them. Cokes just couldn’t handle Hayward’s physicality and power.
