Why do some people try to claim Mike Tyson couldn't hang with today's "giants"?

P4P Tyson was far better than today`s giants but Douglas`s 83 inch reach wa too much for him along with his 6`3.5 height, it was that combo that undid him and Douglas wasn`t as easy to hit with the hook as Williams who also had 83 inch reach.

Tyson was far more skilled than Povetkin and Chisora.

No AJ is far better on the back foot than Scaff and he has a better right hand and uppercut, far more power, he would have destroyed Scaff.

Do you think Wilder punches hard? As in can he knock any fighter down if he lands his big shots?

Do you also think sometimes boxers have a bad day at the office e.g. Fury vs Wallin?

Batters Usyk? Lewis never fought anyone as skilled as Usyk who would have toyed with the clumsy Briggs.

The clinch game has developed, it`s called not being able to fight on the inside without holding.

Wilder is 6`7 with an 83 inch reach and has more power than any fighter 212 or under.

If Mike Tyson was around today he would be one of the biggest attractions in boxing.

He'd be competitive with Usyk but Tyson had a short prime as we know. Usyk is a dedicated professional and not a coke head.

Not of those blokes as big as Zhang, who would keep Mike on the end of his jab

If Jake ''Money'' Paul detonated on a prime Mike clean like he did on Tyron, Ben and Nate he might very well shock the world.

Put Tyson against some modern big names in the division this is how I see it going.

Wlad - Has no inside game, likes to clinch but Tyson would do anything to wrestle out of the clinch and land bombs. Tyson's head movement would throw of Wlad's jab and the if jab doesn't Wlad doesn't throw the big right. Tyson KO.

Vitali - A tougher fight to call. Unlikely to be intimated by Mike and a granite chin. His reach and awkward lean back style would probably make things difficult for Tyson...but those slow feet and the lean back could play into Tysons hands.. I'd go with a Vatiali late stoppage.

Wilder - May land the bomb or get bombed out himself.. Let's be honest Wilder has little inside game and nothing at all when going backwards. 9/10 Mike rips him a new one. Tyson KO.

Usyk - This would be fun. The things is prime Tyson is a rare heavy who has the foot speed to close Usyk down and Usyk it hittable and hurtable as we saw v Joshua. I like Tyson in this one.

Joshua. Hurt by Ruiz and doesn't like guys with fast hands... Tyson KO's him in 6. Joshua's suspect stamina and lack of a real weapon of a jab would allow Tyson inside to often.

Fury - A huge guy who can do it all, can clinch of box on the inside. I imagine this going similar to the Lewis fight amd Fury winning.

    Styles makes fights.

How many of them actually outweighed Tyson? That will reduce your list by quite a lot.
How many of them were actually ranked opponents?
And then remove the ones who beat Tyson.
Your list is getting shorter and shorter.

Tyson fought and beat who he needed to in his era. He's an ATG. But he struggled with top tier big men who outweighed him. The bigger they got the harder a time he had.

Heck 14-9-0 Mike Jameson was taking Tyson's best shots and coming back for more til Joe "home team advantage" Cortez stopped the fight.

An 83 inch reach he doesn't know how to use. Wilder has never leveraged his height. He still has no jab to this day. What's the use of a 83 inch reach if he can't use it to keep Tyson at a distance.
