Garcia is a quality trainer no doubt. One of the best in the world, however he said himself he’s trained champions in every weight division from 105 all the way up to 160 then he’s “only missing” 168 175 cruiser and heavy. now he’s taking on a glass jawed big stiff 230lb body builder with no ring IQ no gas tank and no heart. Garcia has trained a lot of tough ass Mexican fighters and now he’s training a big chinny weightlifter who fought terrified against an obese grinning middleweight. What is Garcia going to tell big josh to do differently here? Use his jab? Put USKY on the backfoot? Josh struggled with shot old kubrat PULEV ffs, he has zero chance against a prime feather fisted cruiser with a bit of speed and a bit of movement. No chance; none.
No difference to Fury and Sugar Hills arrangement. Garcia has spent 4 weeks previously with AJ both in the US and here. In the meantime, Angel Fernandez has been sending him sparring videos etc and now he’s in the U.K. for the next 6-8 weeks (fight date dependent). Don’t see a problem here with the set up.
Before his first fight with Fury, did Hill turn up 6 weeks before in Loughborough to train with Angel Fernandez and Richard Riakporhe?
No, Hill turned up in Vegas and trained with Andy Lee and Isaac Lowe? Working the corner with Fernandez for the Rialporhe fight is a wise idea having never worked with him before. If the addition of Garcia makes AJ even 2% better it’ll make the rematch more interesting
I see a problem with different voices in the corner. Fury went to train at Hill's gym. If there was no difference with the arrangement he would have had Ben Davison with him. Garcia has only just arrived and he's already talking of flying home to work with one of his fighters.
Why did he leave Tony Sims. Looking what Sims as done lately, he could do worse than going back to Tony
The rumour was that Sims only turned up on fight night because McCracken wasn't allowed to do his corner.
1-1 means nothing, he dominated the rematch, he's proven himself far better than Ruiz as he's beaten better. You don't need to go 2-1 up against anyone as long as you dominate the rematch.
Lots of people won’t accept he’s avenged that defeat unless he KO’d Ruiz in similar fashion. In my opinion there’s little doubt he’s better than Ruiz, but he was still beaten very embarrassingly.
