So you would be totally fine with 3 more fights against Macklin and Gaele? Why is Hopkins lauded for 5 fights against 2 guys?

Ward had decent viewership numbers around that time too, what's with this acting as if GGG was a star when he was in the same barrel Ward was at that time?

He didn't try very hard outside of Canelo and flat out didn't want the guys I mentioned.

He didn't feel the reward was worth the risk. Guys like Canelo never have to worry about if the opponent can make the fight lucrative enough.....

And the same applies to GGG in terms of getting a Canelo fight. Those guys were good opponents, I won't take that from them and you have people out here who felt they both beat Golovkin as well.

He was super underwhelming resume wise in comparison with a guy like Canelo, there's no false equivalency unless you're trying to tell me he was Canelos peer before they fought or even now in the Financials sense. When you ask: who did they fight? I ask: who did he fight? Goes both ways.

Just curious… where would you rate Greb and Ketchel amongst the best middleweights of all time?

Greb might literally be the best 160 pounder ever, based on resume alone since there's no film of him but he's top 3 regardless. Ketchel? he's harder to rate but he was a vicious fighter who I can put somewhere around 10 give or take

I’d have to put Greb in the top 2 or 3 too based off resume alone. I hate we don’t have any footage of him from an actual fight. So would you have Ketchel higher than GGG?

No one is acting like anything. 3G sold out LA and NY in hours. He had networks backing him. Ward doesn't sell. Wasn't a network darling. HBO only signed him to fight Kov at LtHW. You know, when Ward returned from an injury and lawsuit w/ his former promoter.

So what??? Neither Jermall nor Andrade made themselves viable contenders at the time. Jermall has just stepped up in comp FFS. Did Jermall and Andrade fight???

You have no clue, cut that **** out. All Ward's team had to do was provide a fair offer. 50-50 was never going to cut it. BTW, when was this fight able to be made? We know Ward was out for like two years, and came at LtHW. So WHEN would Ward v 3G have gone?

Of course some idiots felt they won. They're called canelo fanboys

Why are you trying to compare 3G's resume w/ canelo anyway??? You know what cash cows in boxing get? Any fight they want.

That's a tough call, when rating fighters there's always someone rated higher who I think would lose to guys behind them due to style matchup. This could be one of those, Ketchel and a prime GGG are handfuls for about anyone

Canelo was a weight bully who still needed the Adylide Byrde protection services. His resume was loaded with apponents he outsized. You act like his resume was so spectacular before the Golovkin robberies. The guys who had decent skills and experience were clearly outsized with the exception of Trout and Lara who were both controversial wins.

The way your post is worded is a perfect example of your level of investment. You aren't a fan.

That's a really long winded way of saying you feel the same way I do but you don't want to say so.

They were champions in GGG's division right after Canelo moved on to 168. He wasn't interested in leaving 160, so I'm guessing you'll tell me he was locked in on the many better fight options in his division.....

Ward was one of the best fighters in the world, does it really take more than that? He woulda smeared GGG all over the ring. And on subject, can you prove GGG was doing bigger numbers than Ward besides the one thing you're hanging your whole argument on ?

Funny thing is, a Canelo hater who actually introduced me to GGG as a fighter felt he lost both of them watching together in real time. A GGG fan.

Why are you guys quick to compare GGGs resume to guys like Charlo and Andrade who he honestly hasn't done much more than to this day, aside from be on the wrong side of Alvarez.
