Why do people act like Mayweather's 50-0 isn't impressive?

I don't know if it's a boxing thing in particular, which is ironic, or if it's Mayweather in particular but Mayweather's undefeated record really deserves more respect. I'm not even a Mayweather fan, but a Pacquiao one but I feel if it was someone else that had his record they'd be considered the GOAT (at least in the modern era) almost uninamously.

Don't believe me? Why is Giorgio Petrosyan considered the unanimous GOAT in kickboxing cause he has the closest record in the sport (out of the ATGs in it) that emulates Mayweather's. I mean he had 2 prior losses before his most recent one, got KOd before, had a draw (which he shoulda've lost against Buakaw), and was able to get some loss against him turned into an NC. His most recent ko loss was like if Mayweather got KTFO by Canelo (except if Canelo was a bit older and closer to his prime), THAT's the Sport's Mayweather someone that got KTFO before, has draws, and NCs but still has the closest thing to a 50-0 for a kickboxing goat with 105-3-2 (2) and he's damn near unanimously considered the goat for that sport.

Hell look at MMA, people front and act like at least in MMA losses don't matter. Complete cap, Khabib is considered the lightweight goat cause he's 30-0 (whoops 29-0, couldn't even get one last win to round out to 30 tsk tsk). Tell me losses don't matter when BJ Penn has a much less sexy record with 16-14-2. And the biggest one is GSP who is the sport's mayweather, even though he tapped to a midget (at least he got his revenge), where he had a million decision wins in a row people don't hold that against him NEAR as much as they do against Mayweather even though by the time he was a decision machine he already moved up a bunch. Whereas his flashy pacquiao counterpart that was like RJJ in his prime has a ton more ko wins and exciting highlights, is not near as heralded as he is by the fans. Imagine if Mayweather the Pacquiao debate is lopsidedly in favor of mayweatherin the eyes of the fans. Hell look at ****ing Jon Jones, another goat contender (doesnt matter how much you hate him he is), he also has a really sexy record with only official (dq) loss even though you can argue he lost his last two fights.

What I'm getting is that people do care about undefeated records (Khabib) or something close as hell to it. People that take losses over and over are punished in the eyes of the fans, and anyone saying is otherwise is full of ****. Look at Roy Jones Jr, Silva, BJ Penn. Pacquiao might be one of the few to escape this in the modern times anyway.

Its a great feat, most great feats can be put under the micro scope and nit picked

I think people just dont like Floyd so they do what they can to minimize it

The Berto fight did not sit well with a lot of people and the McGregor fight felt like a farce but his overall body of work was excellent

Because boxing is a popularity contest that's why. If a fighter is well liked they will get more credit than they deserve and for their failures well they will be excused. Boxers with many haters wont get as much credit because their success will be downplayed. Pbfs career was exceptional I don't think any boxer in history wouldn't want it.

It is their hate that blinds them from the truth.

Every sport is it's just really funny to me that the "Mayweather" of kickboxing got KTFO before, had draws, and was able to get a loss turned into an NC. Imagine if he got KTFO against Canelo, that's what happened to that sport's Mayweather. Mayweather should have honestly adpoted "Mr. Perfect" as his nickname, which was Ernesto Hoost's nickname.

People trying to front and act like undefeated records don't matter when Khabib is considered one of the all time goats cause he's 29-0 and his resume is MUCH worse than mayweather's in terms of champs defeated and number of times he had to defend his belt.

None of those so called ducks beat him. Had he fought them they would be downplayed after he schooled them just like the guys he beat.

Everyone knows Mcgregor was just cause it was a massive payday for both of them. Honestly otherr than Spence, which he probably still would've beat back then, he beats all the top WW at that time. Crawford wasn't even a welterweight yet. I mean he coulda just picked some random guy on the lower end of the top 10 at the time to give a "legitimate" 50-0 but it's like whatever.

It's easy to look in hindsight and pick apart a fighter's career tbh. Yeah I would've loved to see him fight Pacquiao at the time, but it is what it is. The harsh truth is that when two great fighters don't fight in their prime, people just remember who either wins or had a better legacy. Back when GSP and Anderson Silva were supposed to fight, and Silva was lighting **** up like Pacquiao GSP was called a duck but now people just try and act like GSP would've won anyway just cause his legacy is better. It's just easier to retroactively say that.

Breaking down fighter's careers after is easy, Petroysan ducked a bunch of muay thai fighters like Sittichai for example and once he faced another great one he got KTFO, but the fans don't care he the Mayweather of kickboxing though even though he got KTFO.

Honestly, the more I think about I gotta give Mayweather and Manny credit. Their sport has a way higher standard for being a goat than MMA and kickboxing tbh. Manny in mma would be like someone being 4 weight champion in his sport and which no one has come close to do. Mayweather would be like having at the least 30-0 (40-0 probably giving mma the benefit of the doubt because tbf it is easier to have a flukeyt loss) record with a way stronger resume than khabib (lol) while also being a 2 belt champ

Maybe because having unbeaten stretch of 50 fights have been done numerous of times through out history.. impressive nonetheless but not necessary a criteria for TBE.

    Is is very impressive

Why do people act like Loma going 396-1 (or 402-1 if you count the WSB) as an amateur solitary controversial loss avenged x 2 isn't crazy impressive?

    It's absolutely freaking insane

Nobody denies his ability. But he clearly had help to protect that 0.
It was obvious he had a system similar to Canelo now, whereby he would get the benefit in close rounds and as long as he didn't get KO'd, he'd likely win. So after a while the strategy was based around being very defensive to avoid losing by stoppage, then 'knick' rounds with the help of biased home judging. This also led to boring fights.

He also carefully selected opponents to suit this. He almost always had the reach advantage so the outside defensive fighting would work.

Look what happened to Klitschko when he faced someone he couldn't use his own particular outside defensive fighting with due to the proportional and speed problem. It all fell apart against Fury and he lost. So these things matter.

On top of that Mayweather is not only a POS person, but a POS 'sportsman', so people will be less likely to praise him. He's a cheater with no integrity, as shown in the Ortiz fight where he literally sucker punched a guy for a KO win, while the guy was reaching out in an apology gesture during a break in the action. That's the lowest of the low. And it demonstrated Mayweather's cheating, opportunistic character, which ties in to other parts of his career.
