You´re right ! That's completely correct. Clearly remembers the event due to Crisanto Espana's surprising victory against Meldrick Taylor. Also remember how arrogant HBO´s posted staff were.

 

Hatton-Tszyu started at around 2:00 AM UK time. I think it was the last UK fight to start at an unusual time just to accommodate to US audiences, as strange as it sounds since Tszyu wasn't even an American resident.

 

I’m at work till 7 am anyway so I’ll have something to watch that kills an hour of a night shift so it’s all the same to me.

But the American networks setting the times of fights in different countries to suit their own time zones is nothing new so unsure why it’s suddenly an issue now.

If I wasn’t at work I’d just record it and watch it when I got up at a time convenient to me. It’s not in that top tier of unmissable when it’s live fights for me!

 

Pretty sure Calzaghe vs Lacy was a later start time

I have to admit I went to bed and did not stay up. Have just watched the show from last night on the Sky Box and how great it was to listen to Adam Smith and Matthew Macklin. Going forward - when Top Rank Boxing have big boxing events - then I hope Smith and Macklin will be commentating. They are far better than the commentators Top Rank uses for their "world feed".
