Someone with unspectacular chin, limited heart and no chance whatsoever.

Martin fits the bill just fine.

Kownacki is easy to hit, he's tailor-made for Wilder, so Deontay's handlers will likely choose him.

But I would sooner see the loud-mouthed drug cheat Miller get hammered by Wilder.

My first choice (though unrealistic) would be poor Dustin Nichols, who deserves a decent payday. His knockdown of Wilder wasn't counted in their first fight by the dodgy referee.

I voted for Andy Ruiz, although I would have preferred Wilder to watch against the loser from the fight AJ Vs Usyk (or the winner).
Which is why Wilder, who aspires to regain the belt, would get opponent Anthony "Mad Dog" Doowkins :) ?

    Not convinced he really does...

Of course, he has to say he does otherwise he becomes irrelevant. But unless he's going to be willing to fight the kinds of guys that are likely to be holding the belts, he'll only be "aspiring" in his own delusional narrative (and his cult's).

Unless the WBC decide to give it back to him on a plate if/when Fury vacates, he's very unlikely to get another title.

    Martin seems a good choice.

I think Helenius would be a good opponent in a comeback fight. Lose that one and it's time to retire.

Otherwise, take on the winner of Joshua/Usyk.

I don't understand why he continues his career, if he doesn't intend to regain the title.

This is one of the best ways to pursue a Wilder career.
The fact that he (like everyone else) lost to the best of his era does not mean that he is a third-class boxer.

    Honestly... Money.

Plain and simple - he's always fought to provide, it's all about the money.

Looked at this way his career makes total sense - an extremely underwhelming resume with limited desire to establish himself against the better fighters in the division, talking up the AJ fight to raise his profile but running away from career high payday in order to try and boost it even higher by fighting a super rusty and assumed-shot former champion.

So now? It's not about being the best, it's not about being a champion again, it's just about doing whatevers necessary to provide.

If there's a big enough payday out there with AJ/Usyk then he might cash out on it, otherwise he'll take fights that he has a low chance of losing whilst continuing to talk himself up and claim everyone is ducking him.
