Inoue w/ a broken eye socket and double vision still managed to outbox, punish, and drop Nonito 8 rounds to 4 at worst. And Nonito looked lethal coming into the fight dislocating Burnett's back and beating the **** out of Young. Inoue would win against a prime Nonito as well.
Donaires had s late career renaissance but do you think he looks better than he did around 2010.. for what it's worth I agree with your score for the first fight. But peak Donaire against current Inoue is a 50/50 ..two special fighter's
It's such a shame that we couldn't see him in against Chocolatito, Gallo, or SSR. He's a classy technician but he's been really mismanaged. And he's getting old. I really want to see how he looks in the Ioka rematch but part of me thinks that he's going to start looking his age.
I keep saying it — this is the best version of Nonito we are seeing. He's older, yes, but he's also wiser, more patient, more focused, more motivated, more selective with his shots (no longer falling through ropes throwing wild left hook haymakers), is just as durable as ever, and only a tick slower. The Oubaali KO was gruesome and spectacularly violent.
Dude, he bookended the Inoue fight with 4 brutal KOs. He's looked like the terminator. COVID messed up Inoue. Donaire definitely has momentum coming in.
Nonito has pretty much always been knocking out everyone and their mum since he made it to the world scene I agree with you he is more patient now and has gone back to his boxing abit more rather than being extremely left hook happy..but I'd still say his peak was around 2012....he still does alot of the things now that he did back then tbh.. although he's just not quite as quick to land some of the unorthodox things he could back then. I'd say his recent run speaks more to his overall talent that even at this late stage he's still a handful even for the elite.
Take a look at Marquez. Do you think 38-40 year old Hulkquez would struggle in the least with Diaz or Katsidis? Hulkquez never looked better and neither has Nonito. But Nonito is doing it without a pharmacy in his system.
Marquez claimed his best win against pacman in that 4th fight...it was also the shittest he had looked in years ....he was not at all suited to welterweight. Think your giving it abit of revisionist history though.... Marquez apart from touching deck..didn't struggle with katsidis at all . Diaz one was touch and go...Diaz 2 was not..Marquez boxed his ears off....I don't see him bulking up and opting to trade making those fights any easier
Even at his age i think Donaire is the most dangerous fighter from 126 down that Inoue could face due to his amazing punching power. If Inoue wins like i think he will i dont see any fighter from 126 down who can trouble him.
Inoue is going to smash Donaire quickly. I feel bad for Donaire fans, but it's an ATG vs a HOFer, and the HOFer is old. After this Inoue will have nearly as many title wins as Donaire, and without half a dozen losses. Then Inoue will become undisputed, and there will be no debate on who was better.
Akhmadaliev at 122 and Navarrete/Rey Vargas are his biggest challenges from 126 and below imo, I pick him over each of them, but they can all give him trouble, especially considering that Akhmadaliev is not only very good defensively but can crack.
I'm looking forward to this too but out of interest, which sea life centre are you going to? Not the Blue Planet?
