[QUOTE="JOKER, post: 21351757, member: 122128" Did he aggressively pursue Inoue? Nope.[/QUOTE] I think so...Thems are facts!! This content is protected
This content is protected This content is protected No. It would be the Donaire that authored 2 brutal KOs, the one against Oubaali being frighteningly violent.
Don't think we should discount the fact Inoue boxed like that against a great fighter who previously shattered his orbital bone. Takes some stones to do that. Yeah, Donaire was shown to be past his sell-by date - at the very highest level - and yes, he should retire now but in beating him so decisively the 2nd time round, Inoue showed not only great technical prowess and power but mental fortitude too. He ticked an important box today...
Certainly looked more impressive than he did last time against Donaire. Whether that is function of Donaire getting even older or Inoue making adjustments is up for interpretation. In a historical sense, boxing fans and media have never awarded a possible great fighter to much credit for beating a 40 year old. Especially not at Batamweight. So why start now? Perhaps a middle ground. Obviously Donaire even at 40 is formidable, but hes not the Donaire who stopped Montiel. Not even close.
Maybe because Inoue had his eye socket broken in the second round and fought the rest of the fight w/ double vision?
Many people are knocking Domaire as being past it but name another fighter at 118 that knocks him out in 2 rnds. I would even say name one that beats him right now not name Inoue.
