Rigo would fold. As soon as he realizes he keeps getting tagged despite trying not to engage he would stay in the corner. Highly overrated fighter.
Rigo can punch to that's what people seem to be forgetting here he's also the better pure boxer with better footwork and movement he has a very frustrating style. I could see him outboxing Inoue and he has the power to get his respect to keep inoue honest.
Sorry to disappoint, but prime Rigo is still below prime Inoue. Inoue has insane punch acceleration. There is almost no pause between his powerful punches combination. Imagine a lower weight class version of Gennady Golovkin with faster and quicker punches, there you get Inoue
He fought loma at a weight he had no business at. Even loma didn't celebrate and downplayed the win which was a classy thing he did after the fight. He said rigo was too small for him. Rigo is small at 122 let alone 126 where he fought loma at.
People seem to forget that as talented as Rigo was he’s always been a one dimensional fighter. He’s great at what he does with his defensive counter punching style but he never showed variety to his game because he was always content with fighting safety first. Inoue is a different breed compared to every other fighter Rigo has fought in his prime. Not only is Inoue powerful but he is a great ring technician and highly skilled fighter. Remember, Inoue has NEVER been thoroughly outboxed, let alone quit in his stool. Prime for prime I think the Inoue would have found a way to hurt Rigo and pierce through his defense.
Inoue might quit on his stool if he fought a prime loma at a weight he had no business at. That's what rigo did.
IS this the guy that ran around every direction in the ring vs Casimero and quit against Loma? Just shows how overrated Nonaire and Rigo's are. IMO. Inoue is the real deal ,no doubt. One punch KO power in both hands. It will only take one taste of that power and Rigo will jump out the ring and never come back.
It’s hard to say but to me I don’t think Inoue is the kind of fighter to quit on his stool if he were to be outclassed. He did fought on with a broken orbital bone in his toughest fight. Not sure how Rigo would react if the same were to happen to him.
his biggest and most important fight (as you name it) was 2 whole weights above his own weight. Tell GG to go and fight beterbiev, let's see how the fight goes.
erm there's 15 pounds between ggg and beterbiev!!!! totally diffferent. Rigo went up a few poxy measly pounds and Loma didn't even use size/weight he just schooled him technically amd made him quit like a coward.
Guillermo Rigondeaux had a good few fight's at 122 and then jumped all the way up two weight divisions to 130 to face Va-SILLY Lose-a-chenko and found that he was simply too small to do anything in the ring with Lose-a-chenko. Since then Rigondeaux has returned to the 118 division, which is a much better fit for him. However, he is almost 42 years old now (probably even older as he is Cuban) and is far removed from his prime.
There have been fights where Guillermo Rigondeaux has made Malik Scott look like David Tua. I tend to rate boxers according to the volume and intensity of the punches they land - not the sheer distance that they cover during the course of a fight.
