This is a really interesting fight. Would have been better if it happened a few years ago when Ortiz was a reasonable age.

I think Ortiz could win this, but I think his age will get the better of him.

Ortiz can take a punch, he proved that vs Wilder.

Part of me thinks Ruiz will take this with his quick hands, but Ruiz has no head movement so maybe he could get knocked down.

I'm going with Ruiz via close decision.

I think Ortiz's punch resistance is going. I think Ruiz could ko him.

Sure but being easy to knockdown and being easy to knock out aren't the same thing.

Remember Povetkin's punch resistance was poor but he was never really hurt.

Ruiz slaps him silly. I'd say Ruiz should have fought him in his prime, but I'm not sure historians even know when that was...

He looked hurt against Whyte to me in the rematch.

Are you seriously going to count Post covid Povetkin vs Whyte as a serious fight? Seriously? Are you being literally serious?

Povetkin was sick and it's a disgrace the fight was allowed to go ahead. Povetkin was stumbling on his way to the ring ffs.

I agree the fight probably shouldn't have gone on. It was a cash out for Povetkin. I'm just saying that, whether it be age, past KO's, wear on the body, illness, or a combination of factors, eventually fighters stop being able to take the shots that previously they would have been able to. I think Ortiz is headed in that direction.

Ortiz went life andd death with Vharles Martin being dropped twice. I think Ruiz stops him and wins every round up to the stoppage.

Ortiz didn't go life at death, he was knocked down easily twice, but it wasn't a brawl.

Ortiz was never really hurt, he got up easily, and Martin eventually got destroyed.

Style wise Ruiz suits Ortiz, he's pretty easy to hit and will walk into Ortiz's counters. If this were a near prime Ortiz I'd have him a clear favourite. But now Ortiz is near shot and looked vulnerable against Martin so this makes this a more intriguing match up.

I think if Ortiz is to win he has to stop Ruiz inside 6 rounds after than his gas tank will be empty and Ruiz will quickly finish him. For Ruiz to win he has to survive the first half of the fight, take Ortiz's counters and grit it out til Ortiz fades.

I've recently tended to pick Ruiz in this match up but I'm not so sure now. It's a 50/50 fight for me as we don't know if Ortiz has anything left or if Ruiz can take Ortiz's counters. I'm now picking Ortiz because styles makes fights and whenever I've gone against that rule I always get it wrong.

Disagree he's bad, although he was over hyped.

He did well vs Wilder, definitely Wilder's hardest fight after Fury.

Ortiz almost beat Wilder 1st time around.

I'm going with an Ortiz ko. Until Ruiz shows me something I'm not betting on him to win vs anyone with a big punch. Yes I know he went life and death with Arreola.

The 2016 Ortiz dusts off Ruiz, but I think he may be finished now. Ruiz has looked awful, too, tho. Interesting crossroads bout. Loser is off the world scene.
