Should clearly be Usyk but I guess they're thinking well he has a fight coming up and let's see how he fares in that one. If he wins they'll bump him back up to #1 again albeit he has a much tougher task against AJ than Inoue did against Nonito given the huge physical and power disadvantages he's having to overcome against AJ. Not to mention the mental battles he's having to contend with in preparation for the fight given the predicament his country is in.
Inoue doesn't have a win comparable to Usyk beating AJ, and doing so in AJ's backyard on a deck that couldn't have been anymore stacked against him, given the massive physical advantages AJ holds over Usyk in terms of weight, height, reach, power, and strength and AJ's fast for a behemoth SHW and has knocked all but two of his victims almost all of whom are a lot bigger and heavier than Usyk.
Not only that, but Briedis and Gassiev are better than anybody Inoue beat. From my perspective, Uysk is the best fighter since a prime Manny Pacquiao.
This right here. Usyk beating fighters in their backyard and becoming undisputed and also moving up and beating the champ in their hometown is more impressive than beating a 39 year old champ twice IMO.
Gassiev is one of the sport's top 3 most devastating punchers and there are many HWs, HWs who've shared a ring with the best and most destructive HWs out there, on record or have told trainers and fighters he's the hardest puncher they've shared a ring with and there are also numerous people within the trade who say they've seen the video footage of him knocking out numerous top HWs in the gym. Such a shame what's happened to him with all his injury woes. Gassiev and Briedis have never been hurt, let alone dropped or stopped. And as said, they've both shared a ring with murderous punching HWs in the gym like Wlad, Vitali, The Tuscaloser to name but very few. Bashir said Briedis was never hurt by Wlad or Vitali which is rare for anyone who has spared over 30 rounds with them, Wlad speaks very highly of Briedis (''I know exactly how good he is''), and the K brother's chef and camp manager who used to post on here speaks highly of him too. He said he'd seen first hand in the gym how hard Briedis can crack. Briedis sparked a 250lb Charr out cold on his face with a single devastating uppercut, something which none of the HWs Charr has fought have come close to replicating. That was about as spectacular a KO as KOs get. Arreola says Gassiev is the hardest puncher he's shared a ring with and Ben Davison has said that lots of HWs have told him the same thing. It's hardly the best kept secret that Gassiev has flattened highly ranked HWs in the gym Timestamped This content is protected And this from his trainer “The power he has shown me in the gym sparring against [heavyweights Dominic] Breazeale, Charles Martin, Gerald Washington, Chris Arreola, is very real,” Sanchez said. “All those guys, he’s been able to dominate and hurt. Once we get him to the heavyweight division and stabilize him at 225, 230, and put some muscle on those pounds, he’ll be very effective.'' -- Abel Sanchez Briedis is a brilliant fighter: Savage KO power, excellent chin, fast, skillful, intelligent, throws lovely shots, and a very good engine. He's very complete
But stopping world class opps in a row is impressive. He hasn't loss a round. Depends what ring is looking for. Personally, getting explosive KO's is exciting and will always make me a fan of monster. He deserves it.
Yeah no one has done what Usyk has done and very few would even contemplate attempting to do so. Some won't even do once what he does religiously and people want to pin a medal of honor on their chests for doing so once. Not only is he beating all these guys in their backyards but he's fought a ton of huge/very big punchers and never been down once. AJ Chisora Gassiev Briedis Glowacki Bellew Huck Hunter All big/very big/murderous punching KO artists All beaten in their backyards He's one belt away from being undisputed in 2 divisions against a murderer's row of punchers in their backyards Incredible
How about needing only 8 TOTAL rounds to knock out Narvaez, Rodriguez, McDonnell, Payano, and Donaire? It's cool if people prefer Usyk, but don't act like Inoue couldn't possibly deserve the #1 spot.
That's 20 rounds to stop Narvaez, Rodriguez, McDonnell, Payano, and Donaire actually. It took Inoue 14 rounds to KO Donaire, you can't just act like their first fight never happened. Also, while you're talking Inoue taking 8 rounds to stop opponents, why don't you also bring up the fact that it took him 8 rounds to stop Aran Dipaen?
The Ring's entire list is a joke. Usyk not at #1 Bivol below Canelo Josh Taylor on the list despite going life and death with Jack Catterall (with the majority of observers agreeing that he lost) Beltless Loma on the list
Chisora and Huck are not big punchers and both were washed and Bellew was washed and Hunter is not a big puncher
This content is protected Incorrect. Nonito is a far superior fighter to the Big Stiff Idiot. And the Big Stiff Idiot was soul-raped by a 100-1 underdog fatty who spent training camps winning eating contests. Usyk fought the literal shell of one Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua OBE. In fact, there is actual evidence captured on video of the Big Stiff Idiot's soul vacating his body.
