He can keep the spot warm until Usyk schools AJ again(or if that doesn’t happen, which seems to be on hold off, Crawford does that to Spence). And @tinman just because you don’t know **** about lower weight classes, doesn’t mean they’re nobodies. Gvozdyk can be argued to be better than anyone of Inoue’s wins, but then Inoue would have the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th best wins between them.
Worst post. Inoue defeated the man with the most title wins in boxing, the reigning and 4 division champion Donaire, Moloney, champ McDonnell, future unified champ Taguchi, reigning champ Rodriguez.. He has the best resume 105-122 barring 115, and he has lost perhaps 7 rounds in his entire career, which includes 16 title fights with 14 KOs. Beterbiev was neck to neck with the Nail, and has lost many rounds in far less title fights. He loses a round, often at least two, in every title fight he is in, and pretty much never gets an early round KO. He's not even the best in his division.
Gassiev may have been playing possum against some of his opponents (who may have been in pure survival mode) in order to reduce the amount he's ducked and he wasn't even 18 when he turned pro with only 25 amateur bouts, so he was neither skilled or physically mature (Wilder didn't have an extensive KO record as a 22 year old amateur either). He's KO'd 12 of his last 14 opponents, with only very tough champions in Usyk and Lebedev (who he dropped) surviving. Many heavyweights he's sparred with have also confirmed that he hits very hard.
This is all kicked off because somebody said Inoue is the most dominant fighter. I disagreed. **** sake these guys were defensive.
That's because you sound dumb. Beterbiev barely shows up on ANY P4P lists. And Inoue's a straight up and down fighter? YDKSAB.
It matters when you're comparing him to a who loses an average of a round per two title fights for "dominant", when Beterbiev loses a couple rounds per title fight. Inoue beats and KOs champs (plural) in 2, I don't think Beterbiev will ever be good or dominant enough to do that even once.
Usyk should reclaim it soon after beating Joshua again. Sorry but inoue doing what he should've done in the first donaire fight doesnt do it for me. Will canelo be back to number 1 after beating GGG in the 3rd fight?
I'm not a huge fan of bantamweight, but it's at least conceivable that the other names frequently mentioned here (Usyk, Crawford, Spence, etc.) will be beaten by their opponents in their next fight. We could have to wait a little while before somebody comes along and grabs Inoue's straps. So Inoue it is...
I like Beterbiev and he's one bad-ass mother*******. But Bivol is still out there and that means Artur is not P4P until/unless he adds that scalp to his collection. As far as I am concerned, P4P should mean you are obviously a level above anybody fighting in your division. And, ideally, you've won titles in more than one division.
If Artur manages to beocme the undisputed champion at LHW - he will not have done it before his 38th birthday. That would be an extraordinary accomplishment, and should make him competitive for P4P. But he would need to do nothing less than unify the division to be considered, IMO.
