Why are Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev ducking each other?

Beterbiev would’ve fought Bivol right after he beat Gvozdyk(he was dealing with promotional issues before that) as he has shown clear willingness to unify and clean out the division, he would’ve also fought Joe Smith Jr late last year but Joe didn’t fancy it then. Bivol wasted wasted his and everyone else’s time waiting for Canelo sweepstakes for 2.5 years. Worked out well for him in the end I guess.

I like Bivol a lot more and will be rooting for him against Artur, but It is what it is. If It doesn’t happen next, I’ll blame it on him.

I don't think you can say that Bivol wasted his or everyone else's time by fighting Canelo. It's not like he was chomping at the bits to fight Beterbiev before that. Besides, he already beat Joe Smith Jr, so it made sense Bivol to allow Smith and Beterbiev to fight first. Otherwise he would have to fight Smith again to become Undisputed even if be beat Beterbiev.

Canelo vs Bivol was a great fight, it was the right time to make that fight, and we learned a lot about both fighters in that fight. The question is will Bivol Beterbiev be made by the end of the year, or will Bivol wait until he fights Canelo again. If he does what he's been saying he wants to do since he beat Canelo, then he'll make the fight with Beterbiev next. If Smith upsets Beterbiev then it's a harder sell for Bivol Smith 2. We'll know more after we find out what happens next weekend, but if Beterbiev emerges victorious, then I think it's pretty clear that the time is right for Bivol to fight Beterbiev, before another fight with Canelo. That is what the fans would want to see next. Whether that happens before the end of the year is anyone's guess though.

I didn’t say he wasted time by fighting Canelo, anyone would’ve fought Canelo in his shoes. But he wasted time waiting for it for 2.5 years.

Bivol vs Beterbiev is a dream match for me. I am waiting for it to happen. IMO Bivol will use his superior skills to beat Beterbiev.

    This is a fantastic question
But I think they will fight each other next after the Canelo rematch for Bivol of course.

Canelo sweepstakes is the obvious answer. To which I say amazing for Bivol, provided he actually gets paid.

I don't think Clenelo will actually fight Bivol again. Bivol schooled and undressed him in the ring.

Revenge is important otherwise it might haunt him forever or if he loses honour in Mexico as a result of it

As much as I would have loved to see a younger Beterbiev against Bivol I'm glad he chose Canelo instead of Beterbiev. The undressing of Canelo was just too satisfying. I had a 3 hour continuous orgasm after Bivol schooled Canelo.

Guess what, they also don't know 99.9% of the fighters on their resume.

I think it makes sense for Canelo to let Beterbiev fight Bivol first. If Bivol wins, he has a chance to grab all four LHW belts. If he loses, a Bivol rematch is still a bankable fight and if he's going to try to tackle Beterbiev at all...it's in his interest to wait a bit and fight the oldest Artur possible (and he's no spring chicken right now).

All of the above assumes, of course, that Beterbiev beats Joe Smith Jr next week. I believe that he will.

Of course there's also a good chance that Canelo never goes back to LWH again. He might fight GGG at 168 lbs and then Benavidez at 168 lbs and then agree to some sort of absurdly-lucrative silliness with Jake Paul that nets him more money than all his prior fights combined.

Nah, Canelo will demand a 168 lbs rematch with Bivol who - very understandably - won't agree to it. Then Canelo will scream and yell and call Bivol a chicken****. Not the best revenge - but it will have to do.

That's funny because it was Bivol's idea all along to come down to 168. Canelo would want to fight him at 175 again especially if Bivol becomes Undisputed there, that way he wouldn't have to risk Undisputed at 168 and could win more titles, and he would get more credit and more belts by beating Bivol at his weight. But the option is always there for Bivol to go down to 168 and challenge Canelo. What makes a fight at 168 intriguing is that it could be for Undisputed in 2 different weight classes at the same time.
