Golovkin changed after that second fight. He's now a jaded, angry man who wants revenge. Don't know why everyone is writing him off. He'll have a touch more power now. Canelo is slower and has just been beaten. Even if you thought Canelo won the second fight, it was close, not like he dominated Golovkin.
I don't think that Canelo will slack off. The fight is a long way away and he's been a professional in the gym for his whole career. That said, if he comes in soft against GGG, Golovkin will take his head off. Canelo has a big age advantage but Golovkin is, as others have pointed out, a bitter and angry man over the scores in his two fights against Canelo. I think he's training for this like it is his last fight (may well be) and is going to look to pulverise Canelo in a close quarters slugfest. Ginger is going to have to come in at 100% to maximise his youth advantage, and I think he will.
Agree fully. I also think the fight being at Super Middle may benefit GGG in terms of punching power. I think if it was at Middle I'd fancy Canelo to pull away and be more dominent. As you say GGG will be very motivated and really is the last throw of the dice for him. I think he will go out on his shield whatever happens
In fairness, Canelo has a mountain of cash and it’s almost impossible to maintain the hunger and highest level of training needed to maintain the top spot. He always comes into a fight in great shape and I think he will do it against GGG. Canelo never misses weight and has looked jacked for years. He can golf, have some fun now and lock down during his camp to get in great shape to beat GGG. Canelo is prime and won’t need to be at his best to beat GGG. I’m a GGG fan as well and he’s amazing for 40 years old but his best years are behind him. He gets hit too much and too easy these days. Canelo UDs the trilogy fight legitimately this time. No shame for either fighter, I have the series going 1-1-1 no matter what the judges scores. A win, loss and draw for each man.
Canelo's judges have been fine?! Come on man, how much worse could it be? I truly try to be as open-minded as possible, and am the last to yell fix, but it is hard to justify the scoring in many of his fights. Mayweather being scared to lose, that's funny - he obviously wasn't scared when he was slapping Saul around like an amateur (despite being the smaller, older, more injury prone fighter). Didn't one of the judges have a really questionable card? Oh, and Floyd only has 1 debatable win, in my eyes.
