This is a tough one. First of all, I didn't know there was a prime Adrien Broner. While that sounds disrespectful, I am actual being serious. He beat good fighters but never beat a top one. Davis is in the same boat but still has a chance to change the script.

Broner is a bigger guy and if Pacquiao, Garcia and Maidana couldn't stop him I don't think Davis would. Reluctantly, I'll go with Broner by boring decision.

Prime weight bully lightweight Broner would walk Tank down and give him the business. Broner by UD

Strange one really. I have went with Davis purely for the fact his ceiling is way higher and Broners output levels are so low, but I don’t see Davis stopping him or really even putting a dent in him. Broner is a clown but he is tough

Both Davis and Broner at 135 are tough ones to rate...
After Broner needed 2 gifts at 130 he seemed to come to his own at 135. He beat DeMarco and Rees very convincingly, but there's a catch here as neither of his then top rated 135 opponents amounted too much in the rest of their careers. Then he jumped up to what his division should have been all along.
Davis looked like the man against a past it Gamboa, who just like Broner's opponents went on a bad streak after, even worse actually but against better opposition. Didn't look great against Cruz, but that guy's career still seems to be going upwards and we can't say much about Romero yet (I don't expect him to ever win a belt though).

I'd expect Davis to win, because he's an harthitter who doesn't back up much and would force Broner to keep his output low, with neither having judges solely in their favor winning on activity.

Mikey, Maidana, and Pac couldn't stop Broner. And Broner badly hurt Mikey and Maidana. He's big, fast, powerful, and somewhere hard to hit clean.

    Broner probably stops Tank.

Tank wins simply because he would be more active. Expect Broner to have a very high connect percentage as he's an extremely accurate guy, but he's gonna simply lose rounds. Tank wouldn't even come close to stopping him though

Broner hurt Mikey and Maidana badly. He's fast and powerful, so I can see him hurting Tank badly.

My opinion: Don't judge Broner by how awful he was at Welterweight.

At 5'6", Broner is not a welterweight. However he was a future Hall of Famer at 135. Broner is a small welterweight from a height, reach and length standpoint, he does have a thick neck and head, which explains his great chin.

Broner's style is that of a counter-puncher with power who is capable of hurting opponents with scraping shots. AT 135, NOT 147. At 135 he would hurt guys with those shots then finish. Now that he isn’t hurting guys as easily he hesitates to throw more or even enough.

His primary weapons are his counter left hook and a power-straight right hand. When he's at his best, he employs a steady diet of jabs. Only one of Broner's KOs have come at a weight class heavier than 135 pounds.

In short he didn’t understand that he needed to change his style when he moved up in weight class. He also failed to adjust when his power didn’t move up with him. When this occurs you need to become a higher volume puncher who throws in combinations in order to wear down your opponent. See: Pacquaio.

Had he been able to dedicate himself and stay at 135, he might be something more than a meme or a memory.

Now Tanks "power" couldn't put an aged, decrepit, one-legged Old Gamboa away until the championship rounds despite the fact that Gamboa was one legged since round two.

Tank was also getting hit by Santa Cruz and couldn't put him away until the sixth despite LSC coming up from 126. If he took the same punches from Broner he took from LSC its going to be a long, painful night for Davis.

This is more a seventy-thirty fight for Broner than people want to admit. Broner has never been stopped and Tanks power won't be enough to change that.

I see Broner edging out the W.

Honestly this is a good match up. 50/50. Broner was destroying competition before he moved up to 140.
