If wlad had been British or American, he’d be a crossover global superstar. I still fail to see how an man with a near 80% ko ratio who fought and beat everybody in his division for 11 years could be classed as boring!

I was usually extremely bored watching Vlad most of the time, and his frantic cowardly grabbing & clutching was unacceptable. He would've been booed out of the ring in America in the glorious old days.

 

100% Dempsey needs to be there.

If you are sculpting a boxing monument of HW champs, Dempsey, Louis, Ali are three locks for the group. Maybe Johnson. No one past Ali makes the cut, as no one past Ali had such a major effect on the sport and division.

For me Rushmore should contain the four best heavyweights of all-time but I know what he means by the Rushmore of boxing, but you`re right maybe there is no legit Rushmore, I don`t like how race is such an issue on this forum, also even if Marciano was better tyhan Louis he wasn`t more famous and certainly wasn`t as famous as Ali, nor was he the best heavyweight of all-time, the only reasonyou wrote his name is because he was white, you guys have to stop this racial thing, it`s a myth, there`s no such thing as race in reality, just diferent cultures.

 

Mike came closet but Ali`s fame was unmatched, Tyson himself would admit that.

I don't think we will ever see another heavyweight as popular as those 3. Mainly because of the rise of NBA and NFL poaching the Heavyweight talent that Americans used to have in Boxing. If they were from the USA maybe Lewis, Wlad or Fury could have such a popularity cause of their marquee wins (Lewis), longevity(Wlad) or life story(Fury). But as the PPV buys for the Fury/Whyte showed, they will remain mostly unknown to the general American public. In hindsight, controversy also helped a lot. Ali and Tyson were always on the news during their career for things outside the ring.

 

You mean you wouldn't define black Africa as having a specific and singular culture as opposed to the Nordic countries, or Chinese culture?
