He got hustled. The money in DAZN was when AJ was undefeated, and then when he only had one "fluke" loss, and before he had all his social media whoopsies. He's buying his own devalued brand now.
This is what I'm thinking. In the first fight, I bet Usyk to win by KO/TKO...this time I'm gonna bet Usyk by KO/TKO because that is the only way I think he can win the fight. Unless Usyk scores a bucket load of knockdowns lol
It's curious to see a platform invest in a boxer who has 2 defeats in his last 4 fights and whose career is hanging on a thread.
Usyk to face 4 opponents at once. Unprecedented! I do fear for Usyk tbh, the war may well have taken it out of him, even if he wasn't THAT involved so to speak. It's fine margins at this level, even if AJ is a bum. AJ could win legitimately, or more likely, take it close on the score cards. If that happens we all know which way the judges will go...
Someone needs to put Eddie and AJ's face on that Running Man film poster. (And 258 Management LOL) A certain person said 'Sky created a monster'.
This explains the so many waisted air time of woman boxing. They can’t afford real matches after signing company away to Canelo, AJ, and GGG. It’s great for the boxer but what the hell is DAZN thinking.
The article was confusing, being in the US, because Joshua says he's fighting for a new broadcaster but he has been fighting exclusively on DAZN in the U.S. for years after leaving Showtime. So is this basically the same press release they issued when he left Showtime for DAZN USA, except now he's leaving Sky for DAZN in the UK? I don't see the "groundbreaking" part? He's moving to a company he's already been boxing exclusively for in the US for three years?
Sounds like the same ploy used when DAZN tried to get Wilder. Joshua and Wilder both fought on Showtime in the U.S. They seemed to be on a collusion course. Wilder was calling Joshua's defenses in the Showtime studio. Showtime was heavily promoting it. Then Joshua bolts for DAZN. And Joshua and Hearn said Wilder needed to sign with DAZN in order to get a Joshua unification fight. Now, they're eyeing a Joshua-Fury unification and Fury's deal with ESPN is over. So they'll tell Fury he has to sign with DAZN to get the Joshua unification (if Joshua beats Usyk). I guess this is DAZN trying to get Fury to sign ... and lock him up early If they wait until after the Joshua-Usyk rematch, and Joshua loses to Usyk ... Usyk doesn't have a deal with DAZN, so Fury and Usyk could fight on any network. Joshua's being used as bait.
