Nah man, Cooney took some amazing shots from Holmes. To say Cooney has a glass jaw is almost implying Holmes doesn't have power.

Yes, and he folded against Spinks because he got his ass beat and was inept at dealing with angles. His chin didn’t really fail him there.

Cooney was good at getting his ass kicked.

Spinks sure bothered him granted he had some more weight on him. I think if Foster lands his best punch flush on Cooney it’s a ko. And Frazier and Ali were light years ahead of Cooney

Saw Foster defend his title in person in 1969....GREAT Lt Heavyweight champ...he just couldn't fight with the big boys...Cooney by KO

You keep saying this and yet you keep ignoring the question, that me and @Saintpat have already asked you. What Heavyweight contenders did Foster beat ? Foster never did anything of note at Heavyweight, and lost to pretty much every known Heavyweight he fought. Your claiming he would do this and that, but theres no evidence of Foster's performances at Heavyweight to back up your claims.

Spinks was a better Heavyweight than Foster, and Cooney was also clearly past his best at that point, it's not hard to figure out.

If you want to compare this fight, Ernie Terrell 6'6 stopped Foster in 7 rounds. Terrell was not a big puncher, Cooney would finish the job sooner.

So either answer the question about Foster's Heavyweight resume, or I'm going have to agree with @Saintpat that is just trolling and this whole discussion is a waste of time.

To be honest, the first solid hook Gerry hits Bob with, it is a wrap.

I have a right to my own opinion and I feel if Foster came out and landed a big shot he would ko Cooney. Now if Cooney kept him away etc… he would win. But remember all the heavyweights Foster faced were light years ahead of Cooney

Yes of course you have a right to your own opinion, but again for the 3rd time I ask the question, what performance at Heavyweight did Foster have. That makes you think he can beat a 6'6 hard punching Heavyweight like Cooney ?

Because Foster never had any notable wins or performances at Heavyweight, not only did he lose to Ali, Fraizer, he lost to Doug Jones, Ernie Terrell, Zora Folley, all convincing losses.

Bob Foster also never weighed more than 188 pounds in his entire career, so he never even actually made the Heavyweight limit.

Lastly opinions are fine but your statements are baseless, because theres no evidence or facts regarding Fosters performances at Heavyweight. Or regarding a mythical match up vs Cooney.

If u can punch and land a shot u could knock Cooney out. I don’t care what Foster did against any Heavyweight if he lands a bomb on Cooney he is gonna win

Well you might aswell say that about any hard punching Light Heavyweight/Cruiserweight in history, that if they can "punch" they can knockout Gerry Cooney that logic doesn't work, and it's not like Gerry Cooney had a glass chin. He went 13 rounds with one of the best Heavyweight champions in history taking plenty of licks until he got worn out.

And why wouldn't you care what Foster did at Heavyweight ? i mean that's the whole point of this mythical match up isn't it ? how Foster would "fare" at Heavyweight vs Gerry Cooney. And clearly Foster didn't fare well at Heavyweight, losing to every known Heavyweight he fought. He was too undersized and his power which he had at Light Heavyweight wasn't apparent at Heavyweight.

This "theory" you have your mind, about Bob Foster coming out and bombing out Cooney early. I don't really understand where you get this from, Foster never bombed out any decent Heavyweight so i'm confused why you think this.

Cooney losing to Spinks whilst he was past his best, and Spinks who was a much better Heavyweight than Foster i might add, who also weighed 208 pounds 20 pounds heavier than Foster ever weighed. Does not have any barring on how a prime Cooney would do vs Foster at Heavyweight, nor does a well past it Cooney losing to a monster like Foreman. Who himself was rocked in the 1st round until he stopped Cooney, also does not have any barring on how a prime Cooney vs Foster at Heavyweight.

It's pretty simple really Bob Foster is a top 10 Light Heavyweight of all time, at Heavyweight he isn't even ranked in the top 100. Foster was not a good a Heavyweight, and this "mythical power" where he bombs out Cooney is just a baseless opinion with no performances of Foster at Heavyweight to back it up.

The much bigger and stronger Cooney, would absolutely dismantle 180 pound Bob Foster at Heavyweight. Bob Foster is the greater fighter in a P4P sense, but at Heavyweight it's a no brainer Foster would get destroyed.

By this logic youd pick Manny Pacqiauo or SRR over Cooney as well. I dont think Foster makes it out of the first round. Its no knock on him but hes the perfect argument for why some fighters, regardless of how great they are, should never move up in weight.

You have ( with your mighty pen ) really closed this fictional fight down, there isn't a universe where I forsee Foster KO the likes of Cooney, none of us like to dismantle another posters thoughts and opinions unduly, but sometimes we feel the need to gently put our points and prognosis to said poster, and maybe just maybe some common ground is settled on, who knows .
Hold on a minute buddy, what's that you say , Foster is a top ten !!! I feel some dismantling coming on.... nah we both know he is top 5 .
    Stay safe amigo.
